Thank you for the link to the first episode! I appreciate the introduction to his work. I get so much out of my Contrarian subscription. Keep up the great work!
Loved the informative civics lesson of the electoral system. Ben Sheehan has a wealth of knowledge, but unfortunately his presentation is too fast (like so many digital younger folk today). He may think lightening fast, whereas others need more time to absorb the speedy facts and figures. Closed captions help a bit but the frames also zipped by. I listened to the entire presentation twice (dang, wish that I had that opportunity in college!). Great info tho'.
A while back, the Washington Post had a feature where the worked with the Architect of the Capitol (the person in charge of the building, basically the Chief Superintendent) to come up with some re-designs for the main House Chamber. They could easily fit seats for over 1,000 Representatives in it.
Also on the matter of the size of the House, it's been stuck at 435 for over a century..... Even bringing it up to a nice round 500 would be an improvement.
Citizens United - with this Supreme Court we are stuck with the rights of corporations, etc. But wouldn't limits on contributions for everyone control this more, including for PACS?
Yes, Congress could pass a law limiting the amount that can be contributed to super PACs by individuals or corporations, rather than implementing limits on spending by then
This is why trump & billionaires want to defund PBS: it makes more people want to vote.

What a great platform for Democrats to run on, reforming the government to make it for the people and by the people again!

Personally, I would LOVE a transcript! I can read faster than he can speak (pretty much), and when I'm reading, I'm not bothering my co-workers.....

Great to know they have the space!
This is so great—and needed! Yay!
Liked the 1st episode of Civics Made Easy in addition to this video. Thanks.

great info. How do we get rid of Citizens United?
Either SCOTUS overturns itself (unlikely) or Congress passes a law to reverse/revise
I watched the first episode. It was great—-however—-I still dont think I could explain it nor do I think i understand it.
