Frankly, every US citizen is impacted by the unprecedented breach of the US Treasury system that compromised sensitive tax information, personal data and national security.

Congressional ignorance by both political parties and media bias has resulted in disinformation. "Read Only Access" is an oxymoron. Temporary rulings by district and federal judges cannot reverse the damage since DOGiE has already stolen the data and modified the codes.

Government websites are being purged or shut down in real time. Access to missing information through The Wayback Machine www.archive.org has been a helpful resource, but these are screen shots only, so links and search tools are not functional.

In addition, this breach opens new opportunities for scams and identity theft, and must be addressed immediately in a proactive, not a reactive, manner by all financial institutions. The FDIC needs to implement stability precautions so, in the event of bank liquidations or a financial collapse, "all deposits are insured up to $250,000" as advertised. Keep in mind the FDIC is a government corporation funded by its members, not by the public. For those who have suffered through previous disasters, both natural and man-made, "Insurance" may prove to be an oxymoron, too.

Not to state the obvious, but the entire US government must be held accountable for this dysfunctional administration. It has failed its employees, its citizens and every government around the world. Multiple crimes are being committed by two humans, not AI, who continue to receive all the free publicity they desire. One should be deported, the other should be impeached.

Again.

AND it seems IF the courts do NOT stop Musk from being in control of the Federal FUNDS...all else is, in raw truth, doomed. THAT is the Kryptonite to Democracy and thier full control.

This is such a well superior piece shared earlier by Lucian K. Truscott

https://luciantruscott.substack.com/p/how-the-looming-trump-constitutional?utm_source=publication-search

BUT suing for breach of personal information IS the "main stall" to get the Legal stalls or positions reversed until it reaches SCOTUS. If they keep control of the Federal Payment Systems - plan 2025 is achieved and nothing short of a Hostile Take over will get the Country back. Dire news again for our morning coffee - who needs coffee anymore ?

Good points, Anna. I have a small footprint on most social media and writing platforms.

I posted a couple of screenshots on https://bsky.app/profile/politicalpat.bsky.social/post/3lhmde5tcos2u to show the impact on www.archive.org and mentioned there are restricted methods to force capture content. Requests are limited to five a day, so it should be a coordinated effort. Let me know if you find a dedicated group and need direction.

Hi Jennifer;

Cant say much of what TDrump has done has affected me much, other than that I (and my wife) seem to have constant free floating anxiety over the what we both thought America stood for and where they (the Autocrats & Fascists we have put into office) are obviously taking this country. We find it difficult to sleep.

You see, we were raised to believe in the rule of law. News of your lawsuits Norm has certainly made both of us feel better. Keep up the noble, patriotic good work. We both have your backs!

I think everyone does. For those who were diagnosed pre-cheato with General Anxiety Disorder/other Anxiety disorders, the anxiety is heightened. For those with PTSD, same. Depression? Same. The therapists are overwhelmed.

THAT is the Autocratic strategy to a TAKE OVER...FEAR....and awareness and self care are essential !!! This is America, who KNOWS better and are educated in Autocratic take overs...the audacity is astounding...but the truth is real. They have taken over and we need no further proof..at all. Trying to save Freedom is now all that matters...and God Willing the Courts will be step A but there will be MUCH more work to do. As Trump crushes the economy and if he controls payments...it will be much much much harder to correct :( Daily reality check - war on American Democracy, for their ultimate and continued Power...has declared on us all ! It only took Hitler 33 days to topple the Germain Government - we are now on day 24 !!!!

Please realize some have more to fear than others. Many of us with various disabilities will be killed by musk/trump. (The irony here is their disabilities would have killed them in WW2.) Family, friends, co-workers, students who are minorities. Some who might be minorities of 2+ things. Not just ethnicity but religion, LGBTQAI, etc.

Thanks, Robert. Your language about free floating anxiety struck a cord here in Georgia. I feel like a bomb hit my gut every time I pick up the internet. 7400 forest service workers tonight. Always it's a surprise. I did one of my calls to my congressman and sobbed through the whole thing. Later wrote an email and said I was devastated and feeling tortured by the insanity of it all. At least I got an email back from the guy that talked to me. I think they were worried. 🤪

I often wake up and think (since I'm semi-retired and the kids are grown), and inevitably my thoughts land on what's happening to America and the world and it makes me cry. I never dreamed this would happen here--even after 2016 I hoped people would wise up. I had no idea so many people are like this. One third of American adults have chosen to throw out democracy and embrace domination!

I am the board president and co-founder of a local climate action advocacy group, Mobilize Frederick (Maryland). We work with many stakeholder groups and local government to pass legislation and promote practices that will achieve net zero GHG emissions and a resilient future. We have had a $90,000 subaward from the EPA's climate justice program rescinded, but what's more impactful and much worse is that the bulk of funding we were expecting over the next 8 years is gone. The disregard for preventable suffering caused by these know-nothings is incalcuable.

Dear contrarian:

Great idea: I have lost the tranquility that comes when you live in a country that follows the law. Gone! Or almost gone!

I have been a volunteer at SHIP-State Health Insurance Assisted Program (SHINE in Miami) since August 2018: the State Health Insurance Assisted Program.is a grant from the federal government with offices and volunteers all over the country.

We give free and unbiased information about Medicare without conection with any insurance agencies. Just to give you some examples, we help people understand how Medicare works, when to enroll, mistakes you can make if you do not enroll at the correct time. We also inform people about special benefits for low income people.

It is a very valuable and appreciated program and I am worried of its immediate future existence.

Thank you so much for the good work you do!

Here in Washington state, we found our SHIBA Medicare 101 workshop and then private counseling with a fantastic woman simply invaluable when first my husband and then I approached Medicare age (The Promised Land after decades in the heartless, useless, expensive individual policy market; I'm self-employed). For one, she steered us away from Advantage and into Medigap. Really priceless, unbiased, factual information. May your program continue!

To continue…. And a coup leaving a tyrant in charge leads to resistance in the streets. Even if the resisters are non violent, violence will happen. Trump’s “storm troopers” fresh from pardons, will see to that. Nor is Trump himself above using the military to fire into a crowd. If the resistance is not quelled, Trump will invoke the Insurrection Act. Then a lot depends on the Military. Will they do what Trump says ? Or will they stage a palace coup of their own and try to set this country again on a path of democracy and the rule of law?

Trump brought on this FULL war on Democracy...if the Legal stall strategies do no work...you are fully correct. Noting but a Hostile take back will get the Country back and his administration OUT

...and when Trump kills American citizens.... there will be be fear and shock NO different than his idles Putin and Orban. BUT he must CONTROL - he knows..it is HIM or US..period..and he will try to crush us..he must. Such a horrid reality we face...but nothing will change with our understanding where we have been put and accepting what needs doing. To Comply would be more horrific for ever until taken back. There will be Heros' and there will be HOPE...but I cannot see how the American People forfeit their Country...I cannot see it.....I know he will topple, He IS a weak man... but when and where and how ?? yes..it is getting dark

We're all worried and angry. We don't yet know all of the ways that our lives will be impacted. Who will rise to defend Democracy? Who will hide, quietly in the shadows? We don't even know our own capabilities.

In times of crisis, it's most important that we do not turn against eachother. There is a difference between a mis spoken reference and a miliscious statement or action. Like it or not, we still get stuck in the roles that society has taught us. Remember, not everything that's prickly is a cactus.

Let's be kind and supportive of one another.

Let's focus our energy on limiting the damage that's being done by the Trump/Musk regime.

Expand full comment

You are so right--we don't even know our own capabilities. Mustering courage NOW is really important. Get used to standing up against oppression. I agree 100% that we cannot turn on one another for petty reasons, which is unfortunately too common.

ALL TAXPAYERS WITH DATA STORED ON GOV'T SYSTEMS ARE POTENTIAL VICTIMS

Consider a class action suit on behalf of taxpayers using online government portals.

The Social Security Administration's website (https://www.ssa.gov/myaccount/) says,

"A free and secure my Social Security account provides personalized tools for everyone, whether you receive benefits or not." = Contract violation.

Musk and his team have reportedly not taken the IT Ethics and Accountability Training I did while working for a tech corporation with government contracts.

My DNA is now imprinted with: MAINTAIN THE AUDIT TRAIL

Besides .gov website content disappearing from public view, this primary function is lacking. Departments targeted by DOGE have reported standard safety protocols were not observed.

Restoring data without an audit trail and secure backups isn't a quick and easy task.

Tech professionals tasked with managing systems don't "DISRUPT FOR PROGRESS!!!"

Musk and many of his crew wouldn't pass initial "Reputable Company With Gov Contracts" HR drug tests, conflicts of interest, and vulnerability to compromise investigations.

*** Unauthorized access to data is illegal hacking. ***

System users have the right to know who has access to their data and how it will be used.

My.SSA users assume their personal information is safeguarded responsibly. Today, I doubt it.

DOGE's hackers haven't been vetted. I'd never hire them and don't want to pay them

to cut critical services by their drugged boss's orders.

Many state data privacy laws are modeled after California's. Silicon Valley understands why.

It isn’t ‘they’ who say it takes a village. It’s Hillary Clinton who wrote a book in 1996 called ‘It Takes A Village’ and she was referring to all the care and effort it takes to raise children, wise woman that she is. She warned the country years ago about the ‘vast, right wing conspiracy’ we are now seeing manifested in all its gory, heinous glory. She would have been president but Bernie’s bros hated her voice and her clothes — and the fact that she is a woman. Misogynist fools. You should have given the correct reference, Norm. Go back to ‘Go’ and lose two points in the credibility game for your casual, ignorant misogyny. Sometimes I do wish you would just shut and get out of Jen Rubin’s way. You constantly talk over her. So shape up or you are going to lose this contrarian.

This comment exactly makes my point and emphasizes why it is not a small detail or just an irritant but the crux of the entire fight. Misogyny, including casual misogyny, is fundamental to fascism. There is no one without the other.

An interactive map of the u.s.

Please create a website where users (or just admins) can share detailed, location-specific information on how 47 is negatively affecting their states, towns, and neighborhoods.

For example:

California could provide facts about the water release, explaining how it happened and why it has had severe economic and environmental consequences.

Kansas could document the tuberculosis outbreak, highlighting the impact of losing CDC oversight and response efforts.

This interactive map-based platform would make it easy for people to see how GOP policies are affecting their daily lives. Contributions could include:

Statistics (economic data, public health impacts, legislative changes)

Personal stories (how individuals and communities are being affected)

Legislative records (tracking what their representatives voted for)

By making these issues clear and accessible, the site could help inform voters and support Democratic candidates in upcoming elections.

Once he has the payment systems secured...blue or red hats no longer matter. He has FULL CONTROL just like Russia and Hungary. Great piece in the English version of Le Monde out of Paris and their unbiased reporting of it.

Is it just me..or has anyone else suspected that Russia created the heinous killings of Ukraine's people (War) to 1) maybe get a land grab back and minerals/riches or 2) to bankrupt the Democratic nations he knew had to/would defend them, of money AND ammunitions....the Long Play

So this plan would have been baked into the two SECRET meetings Trump had with Putin with no other persons ALLOWED in the room. ! Of course Trump is WAY too stupid to think Putin might record it ? for Blackmail..... on treason to the US ???

There has been a lot of talk about NIH, but less about the chaos across other science agencies like NSF. e.g. below:

I also wonder about DOE (Energy). There I'm less connected to what is going on. Someone should look into the DOE labs and see what is happening there.

Anonymous, please, as I worry about retribution. My husband and I are dual citizens, living in Canada. We retired here in 2015. Our son lives in Baltimore, also a dual citizen. We are terrified of losing Social Security. It's what we live on. Our pensions are small because we worked in the non-profit sector. A recent visit from our son found us hearing he and his wife discussing a Plan B. She is not Canadian, but she is a nurse practitioner, so highly sought here. I hear from friends in the US who are being directly impacted by Trump, such as losing funding in a university program and someone's clinical trial for brain cancer being stalled. This not the US I grew up in. We cared about each other. I never thought, at age 70, after dedicating my life to educating the next generation, I would be looking at potential poverty.

I am a tenure track professor and a biomedical scientist who has been impacted by the indiscriminate and illegal cuts to federal funding agencies such as the NIH and the NSF. My students and post docs are supported by federal grants and my small state university does not have an endowment large enough to absorb this shock. If cuts and chaos continue on their current trajectory, I will be out of a job and my students will have to end their PhD studies and research prematurely. On a larger scale, there will be a brain drain from the USA to India, China, and European countries.

Also, level of household angst is up due to Elon's (& his enabler's) actions - not only for fairness in social security system, also in guessing when China's electric car sales will leave Tesla's in the dust. People are now ashamed to be seen in public driving a Tesla apparently supporters of this coup whether intentionally or otherwise.
