Congressional approval should have been sought before this undertaking in Iran. There should be some kind of repercussions for not seeking congressional authorization. Pete Hegseth just parrots what the felon has to say about it.

We need a congress that will function as a governing body, regardless of political differences. Working together is the only way to accomplish anything and for the past twenty years the divisive, take no prisoners, attitude of both parties has basically killed any kind of progress that might have been made had they worked together. What makes it worse is that we now have a President who labels the opposite party as traitors. He refuses to govern over what he calls "Blue States" and tries to inflict maximum damage and control over them. The cowardice of the Republican Representatives in challenging Trump reflects their only concern, and that is to keep their jobs regardless of the fact that they are not serving the people who voted them in office. All of this would have been averted if they had refused to make Trump their candidate for President. Bottom line is that we don't have representation as a voting body as long as Trump remains of office. We are also in great danger of losing our democracy if things continue at the pace that we have seen since January 20th.

We lost our democracy when our Supreme Court said Donald Trump is above the law. In any kind of autocracy there is someone above the law. In a democracy no one is above the law. We are no longer a democracy.

It gets frustrating, as many have observed, that Trump tears up things only to take some dramatic action that gets press attention. Once that is done, we are no better off, just poorer as a country, than we were in the first place.

Here's trump's MO in all things.

1/ Break something.

For example a Ming vase.

2/ Try to glue it back together.

As with all things trump, very bad and using the wrong materials.

3/ Proclaim "only I can fix it"

While you are looking at a disfigured Ming vase.

4/ Blame someone else.

When confronted with the fact that the disfigured Ming vase is nothing like the original stuff and is now nothing but a worthless piece of junk.

FYI (message to whoever controls digital details) Jen comes through loud and clear, but I could barely hear Brian at full volume on my device.
