What a DELIGHTFUL interview (despite the ugly Republican reformation) just to hear a SANE, RATIONAL, INTELLIGENT congressman TELL THE TRUTH…without shouting even!!!!!❤️

Rethuglicans should be reminded of their daily hypocrisy not only about the deposit and spending but also about their thuggery towards both legal and illegal immigrants.

Keeping in mind Trump's transactional mentality while "negotiating" with countries, and keeping in mind that Africa will be the hardest hit by cuts to USAID, it is also necessary to keep in mind that African countries will play a major role in extraction of Rare Earth Elements (REEs) needed for AI since many of these elements are located there.

Jen, I am grateful for the information you have made possible through this excellent interview. Sen. Van Hollen is a man that has credibility; besides being caring and compassionate. When he described what had happened in the past couple of days in Congress, it made me mad. Our people in Congress have not been given a majority by voters and now they are unable to undo or prevent the worst of Trump's ambitions and orders. Consequently, they must watch Republicans perform for Trump. Congressional Republicans have become mindless robots, programmed to not support the rule of law and or the American people's interests in their service to Trump. They only exist to rubber stamp Trump's selfish, misguided, and heinous acts. They have allowed checks and balances to nearly be nonexistent.

So, when the Dems win big in 2026, can these pick-pocket rescission packages be reversed again??

We all know they don't care about lives overseas or in America, those people are dispensable, so long as their pockets get lined.

Good explanation of what is going on with the do-nothing but brown-nosing Repubs in helping Trump and 2025ers destroy our country and democracy. Senator Van Hollen spoke well on the rule of law and more. Good for him speaking out for all the people of our nation. And the truth about the rescissions bill compared to debt caused in recent times.

Please, please, please STOP calling KIDNAPPING disappearing!!! The English language has specific words for these acts, and to use anything other than the most accurate word for these horrendous acts of terrorism, is diminishing both the act and the impact!

So we now have an asymmetrical system: Democratic votes are needed to pass the budget, but are NOT needed to do recissions. So any money Republicans approve to get Democratic support can subsequently be stripped away by the GOP itself. How can you ever make a deal under these circumstances?

It’s no coincidence that this legislation comes down midsummer when fewer citizens are paying attention to. I do hope that all Democratic reps and senators spend a lot of time educating their constituents in all possible mediums.
