Thank you. Your clear statement of the horrors of OBBBA helps our resistance as we move into another round of public protests. With your considerable experience in government, you are powerful critics of OBBBA.
This regime has always been fiscally irresponsible. The passage of the big bad bill is only further evidence. It’s absolutely pathetic that some reasonably smart people will fall for this when there’s no evidence of this scheme going to decrease the federal deficit. Even my own family has fell for this.
This article should be required reading by all our Congresspeople and more. It nicely pulls together different aspects on topic in an easy to understand writing. Thanks much.
Great post. But with RFK, Jr. in HHS, I would add “sicker” to “poorer and weaker.”
With Trump’s vile attacks on education, especially higher education, immigrants and science, the Trump regime has already crushed not merely the future of the nation, but combined with actively going backwards on climate and cozying up to the world’s worst tyrants, has diminished the hopes of all of civilization (unless you want to count the perverse hopes of tyrants like Putin).
Even if there are blue tsunamis in 2026 and 2028 and we are able to reverse practically everything Trump and the Republicans have done so far, it will take more than a generation to recover. Trust is easily broken, not so easily restored. I don’t believe that anything short of the impeachment, conviction and removal from office of Trump, Vance, and basically his whole cabinet (followed by criminal trials) will change that timeline.
I'm not trying to discourage fighting back with everything we have, just pointing out the real extent of the damage.

Please do not call it "OBBBA." It should be called OBUIACB (one big ugly inhumane and cruel bill).
Love it! Thanks
Thank YOU.

But MAGAs will still backslap each other silly, because trashing 249 years of the United States of America is worth it to PWN THE LIBTARDS.
