"We can't give a trial to everybody we're deporting"

... because we keep firing all the immigration judges. "Oopsie!"

This begs the questions: What about Melania? What about Usha? What about Elaine? Or maybe we should look into Lyin' Ted and Lil Marco--their citizenship seems iffy.

Rubio has birthright citizenship. Now Melania is a different story. She played fast and lose with her cit application, and is said to have violated terms of her visa and gave incorrect info about working(illegally).

What’s the most shocking, to me, is that p47 want’s to do the same to US born citizens. Many of which have been sent notices of “self-deportation.” Attorneys, doctors, people of brown/black heritage, or anyone who's not “white?"

Do we all now need to carry our passports or Real IDs to prove we are really American citizens? Even then, there is no guarantee we can’t be held in custody until it gets worked out. Think about where your birth certificate is and whether a loved one has access to it to prove you’re an American citizen to a Customs and Border Protection agent or judge.

These are scary times and it’s getting worse.

And it will continue to get worse as this president has no intention of cutting back. He continuously steps back when it comes to the economy and the stock/bond markets. Undocumented immigrants are another matter, particularly as he maintains the argument that they are terrorists, criminals and invaders A picture that plays on the fears of a country or at least a portion of the country that sees itself as embattled. To the extent he can cement that image of criminal invaders, without the rights to due process, a speedy trial and the right to counsel, he will have more success than we would like to think or hope. I even found myself warning my son - a decorated veteran - who has dual n citizenship through his mother - to be careful when he returns to the United States for a visit. Even worse was his note that he would come back here to “protect me.” I laughed when he said that but I’m not so sure that he didn’t have a point.

We need to keep their names in front of us. We remember them. We see them and their families. Thank you for this video!

These are high crimes ... probable cause for an impeachment by the House and trial by the Senate. GOP Reps and Senators by not defending the Constitution and the country from this domestic enemy are complicit.

Powerful video. Kilmar's case is compelling, but I keep thinking about all the other men who were sent there as well. We shouldn't be sending anyone to a torture prison in El Salvador. Let's give them due process and if any are indeed criminals or threats to public safety, let's jail them or deport them using our regular channels.

Also, I have been thinking that if they made one “clerical error” they may have probably made a lot more than that. The real reason they don’t want to open the can of worms to let Kilmer be returned is exactly that.

Why can't the judge subpoena Garcia as a witness and demand extradition. We have an extradition treaty dating from 1911.

Please keep bringing up these names daily - this is at the core of the fight to salvage democracy.

These names we cannot recall, but I believe - if one feels solidarity and empathy - that this page ought to be visited: https://interactive.aljazeera.com/aje/2024/israel-war-on-gaza-10000-children-killed/

or this effort remembered forever: https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20250209-the-gaza-martyrs-project-its-our-way-of-reflecting-on-who-they-were-their-hopes-and-dreams/

Sigh, I just read the treaty. It only applies to criminal cases and has to be initiated by the prosecutor, not a lawyer asking for witness testimony. That seems to be an oversight in the scope of the treaty.
