Ms. Luevanos-Ovalle, so many thanks for the work you are doing on the frontline litigation. Thanks!
I've got a horse, pony and mini donkey, 2 cats, and acres of pasture to be mowed, These wonderful companions, soulmates, keep me joyful and certainly very busy.
But not to busy to protest - because being able to do "something" also helps with the sanity.
My dogs and horses remind me that just being there for each other is the most important thing in life. Put your phone down, stop counting steps, and start counting moments together. That costs nothing but pays a lot.
Heh heh--that's me too! I make a point not to use a phone to pass the time. This lets me have conversations with people nearby, or I read a book, or I just sit and enjoy myself. People are amazed.
Because I worked at a telemarketer and took classified ads over the phone all day at a newspaper, I, too, hate talking on the phone. It was a learned disorder :) If I had to coin a term for it, though, I'd just call it "sane." And that makes at least two of us!
As the great and terrible Charles Bukowski said, "All of this stuff, you see. It gets in the way. I'm working on this screenplay and I need a clear mind."
Never mind that the man drank like a maniac and perhaps never had a clear mind... which didn't hurt his writing all that much.
A walk or a workout is great! Working in the yard or the garden is great! Singing or playing music 🎶 if you play an instrument with a group or as a solitary activity. Splashing around in the neighborhood pool. All of these count as self care. You’ve got great ideas!
Thank you for these words of wisdom! Especially in these uncertain and frightening times we must find an outlet. And sharing our thoughts and fears with friends and family helps too. We have to get outside and listen to the birds chirp! When I hear them I look at it as I sign of hope!

Yes! If you can get out and work in the garden or yard for an hour or so. It refreshes the soul! Thanks for reminding us to do this.

Even if we just consider what we pay for pet upkeep, it beHOOVES us to squeeze all the joy out of it :) A phone, BTW, has never delighted me.

Thanks for the reminder that it's OK to take a break. I needed that. Louise

Wow! A democracy AND self care warrior. Great advice. Thank you for taking care of us.
Thank you for the work you do. It's so very important.
Read a good old paperback from your favourite genre and don't forget to smell the pages, lol.
