This budget is all about the GOP's relentless pursuit of eliminating Social Security since the New Deal. Raise the debt to a point where there is no funding for Social Security.

The budget is about Reagan's failed policy of "trickle down economics". "Trickle down economics" failed under the Reagan administration, failed under the second Bush administration and failed under the first Felon's administration.

Senator Baldwin is absolutely correct in her assessment that the bill is simply a transfer of wealth from the lower 50% to the upper 10%.

A majority of Republican voters are bottom 50%. Why do they keep voting representatives who are stealing money from them?

Because they believe what they are told, in the words of an old song:

"You will eat, by and by,

In that beautiful land above the sky.

Work and pray, live on hay,

You'll get pie in the sky when you die."

And the short-fingered vulgarian will give them each a golden "throne." And, all the brown people will be gone.

Those at the top would see an increase of nearly 1.5 percent (several $100,000s/yr for the top .1%). Yale Budget Lab 6/13/25 https://budgetlab.yale.edu/research/combined-distributional-effects-one-big-beautiful-bill-act-and-tariffs

Our "dear" champion liar Gov. Huckabee Sanders has already thrown hundreds of thousands of Arkansans off Medicaid through various means:

1. Refusing to match the federal government Medicaid funds with state Medicaid funds.

2. "Losing" numerous applications/re-certifications.

3. Requiring numerous re-certifications by mostly single mothers for their sick/disabled children and then "losing" them in the mail, again and again.

She sickened me when she was Trump's press secretary. I had never seen such a self-entitled and impudent person, with such a limited skill-set, act so badly. Of course, that was just the harbinger of things to come. But, this behavior is even worse, because people will die.

Is there anyone in government in Arkansas who can help these people?

No, the entire government of Arkansas is fully in fascist hands. The Arkansas senate consists of six Democrats and 29 fascists for a total of 35. The Arkansas house consists of 19 Democrats and 81 fascists for a total of 100. The US Congress delegation from Arkansas consists of two fascist senators (the famous Tom Cotton and a guy named Boozman, whom no one ever hears of) and four fascist congressmen (all white males). Heavily gerrymandered, of course. That shows you the level of intelligence of the average Arkansas voter. They either don't vote at all or they vote fascist.

Also, most people do not know how many very rich Arkansans there are. Drive down any country road and you will see numerous huge mansions on huge tracts of land, fully surrounded by fancy fencing with automatic gates. Next door to a lot of them you will see what most of the country expects: totally run down shacks, mobile homes or trailers with loads of broken down cars, appliances and other crap around them. This is especially true within 50 miles of the greater Little Rock area and other cities.

And then of course there are the Waltons and the Tysons. The Tyson chicken and meat plants are full of immigrants, I'm sure many of them illegal. And our "dear" Gov. has changed the laws to enable children to work in these plants cleaning the very dangerous instruments.

One could go on and on about Arkansas, but I think everyone gets the picture. I'm sure all of this, or variations thereof, is true for most of the other fascist states.

The national Democratic party has all but given up on Arkansas. The don't even put up or support any Democratic candidates. I'll bet Cotton will run again unopposed (again) by an official Democratic candidate in November 2026.

That is depressing information. I'm so sorry. I will never understand why anyone embraces Tehran Tom, but I accept the reality of the situation.

I am so very sorry to hear this. It's amazing to me that Democrats don't use this information when Tom Cotton sanctimoniously speaks... about mostly anything. I looked up John Boozman. He's a fifth generation Arkansan, and has represented Arkansas since 2011.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders is just like Kristi Noem, Mike Johnson, Mike Lee and an unknown number of self-proclaimed religious Christians in the Trump Administration. Rumor has it that they even have their own Ten Commandments.

1. Trump is the Lord, our God.

2. Thou shall not worship idols, but worshiping oligarchs, money and power is a requirement for being in the GOP.

3. You must mention your God frequently, because he requires constant adulation, and will throw a temper tantrum, even at the G7, if he's ignored because of his stupidity.

4. You won't even remember the Sabbath, if you take Ketamine like Elon Musk.

5. Honor your mother and father since they will be living with you forever, because Trump is cutting Medicaid, which pays for nursing homes.

6. You shall not murder, unless it's Democrats, as Mike Lee posted on X, and removed, because of the terrible backlash.

8. You can steal what you want to, and your God will pardon you if you've stolen millions, and are jailed. He's shown that he admires criminality and lawlessness, and also domestic terrorism, because he pardoned all of them too.

9. You may bear false witness to whomever you choose, and then lie about it, because that's what Republicans do.

10. You may covet your neighbor's wife, as long as you offer her a job at Tesla.

Thanks. I felt the same way. The odd thing is that I’m not at all religious these days. I can’t even remember when I last thought about the Ten Commandments. I knew that the reason I decided to write new ones, is because I am so sick of all these self-proclaimed religious zealots, pretending that anything they are doing has a biblical basis. I don’t need to read the Bible to know the difference between right and wrong. They evidently read it all the time, and still say and do the most cruel and evil things imaginable. The very fact that they follow Trump, and have pledged their allegiance to him, says it all.

What I strongly believe in is the separation of church and state. And, they don’t. But, despite that, it was kind of fun to write. The fact is that my God has a sense of humor!

This bill has the support of around one quarter of the American people---a staggeringly low number; and many of its supporters simply don't know what's in the bill. All they know is, they support Donald, so they support his legislation.

If Republicans are going to keep their seats in 2026 they're pretty much going to need to prevent the American people from getting to the damn polls and voting, which may be why Congressional Republicans (though squabbling about intervention in Iran) are all on board with the deployment of US troops to Blue America.

In a long life, I've never seen such a perfect blend of idiocy, short-sightedness, corruption, cowardice, venality, mendacity, and contempt for democracy from a gang of elected legislators.

At least, not outside of old newsreel footage from other people's occupied countries.

Senator Baldwin,

Thank you for your work in bringing the peoples' stories to the attention of the public. Is it possible for you to compile these stories and show them in a video chat to a large audience all at once. I believe that the public will be eager to tune in because we want to know what is in the disgusting abomination bill and how it will affect us, personally.

On an NPR segment last night, I heard that 47 million Americans get SNAP benefits and/or receive school lunches. Is it possible that there are senators our there who believe cutting back those benefits are more important than letting more and more wealth float up to the top 1%? Is this a 21st Century analog to what France went through in the 1700's and that prompted Marie Antoinette to say "Let them eat cake"?

Trump & his MAGA thugs push budget busting transfers of wealth to the wealthiest, cuts in health care & other critical services for vets & the most vulnerable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GM38NaLLH5A

Don’t be distracted by Trump’s flash bang terror campaign & in your face corruption. Spread the word that Trump tariffs & One Big Beautiful Bill impose the biggest redistribution of income from the poor to the rich in U.S. history. The bottom ten percent of households would see an average reduction of more than 6.5 percent in incomes while those at the top would see an increase of nearly 1.5 percent (several $100,000s/yr for the top .1%).
