This article by Jonathan Lemire in today's Atlantic illuminates how nuts this imagery really is. Thanks for a great cartoon:

"And the talk in Washington revolves around who might be on the short list to replace him, even as President Donald Trump delivered a firm defense of Hegseth today while standing a few feet away from a giant bunny."

How timely an interchange! Yes, this definitely means Hegseth is NOT a good egg!! Whether he is a "rotten" one, or just in over his head, based on his limited background, and a compromised-by-years-of-alcohol- abuse intellect, is even beside the point. Putting all our eggs in his basket when it comes to national security is not a good idea!!

Truth is the praise always comes before the kick in the pants. It’s actually what I look for when there is some kind of dustup. When they praise someone, it’s curtains within a day or two. They aren’t going to want this as a constant reminder of how unfit Hegseth was for the position in the first place.

It was like promoting an orderly to chief surgeon.
