Thank you! I appreciate all the thoughts that were shared in this interview. This is a time in which we all need to lock arms with eachother and support the Constitution.
Constitution is left with "we the people." Supreme Court justices (GOP) decisions have not served, we the people. GOP congress have ignored we the people. Faith must persevere in the constitution for all, we the people.
Thank you Senator King. I hope Congress uses all its tools when Grassley's Trade Review Act of 2025 comes before it. Use the Motion to Recommit to force all naysayers to go on record in support of expansion of executive branch powers vis-a-vis levying tariffs. I hope legislators make the bill more proactive since Congress already has the power to set tariffs, not the President and especially in the way he is using them against countries as a shake-down tool. The bill should make it clear no tariff will go into effect without Congressional approval unless there is an emergency (this should be defined--war, e.g.). I support codifying powers.
To quote Senator King, "When you have executive, legislative, and judicial power in one set of hands, that's the perfect definition of tyranny." I think this is the most important issue of all at this time in American history. We have a "leader striking out against anybody that offends him personally". The combination of a toxic personality with severe self confidence issues combined with unchecked [to date] executive power has to be nipped very, very soon in order to preserve a democratic nation.
There was a rumor floating around this weekend that CA is negotiating tariffs with China and will therefore ignore the "emergency" power being exerted by Trump.
Texas chose to ignore the Bush administration regarding the border with impunity. If CA chooses to ignore Trump's tariffs what can the Trump administration do about it.
Truer words have rarely been spoken as those by Sen. King at this point in time. We are at a very dangerous juncture.
Thanks, Senator King. Let's get those Republicans off their supine position.

'These folks believe in states' rights, except when they don't.' Thank you, Sen King!

He’s the voice of reason in these unreasonable times
