I read a comment somewhere suggesting that we carry American flags to take the flag back from the MAGA monsters. I think I will wear ours as a cape over my “Resist” T-shirt when we go to DC on Saturday. See you, rain or shine…and I believe rain is predicted.

I totally agree with taking back the flag. I;m sick of MAGA acting like they own patriotism and the flag. Time for Dems to take it back or anyone who is not MAGA.

The number of people at our Town Hall from 22 March was many but there could have been more. The questions asked to the phantom Representative Dale Strong were all quite good and very thoughtful. The last thing we need is a phantom Congressman. No one was there protesting anything. The lies that Speaker Johnson tells just might get him in hot water with the American people. Not everyone protests and many have legitimate concerns and intelligent questions. If one does protest then that’s their right to do so as long as they can keep it peaceful. I don’t call these absentee congressmen Republicans anymore I call them Phantoms. Rep Dale Strong (P-AL)

Our town hall in AR District 2 was bursting at the seams with at least 800 present and more than 200 turned away from what I gathered in a Zoom call last week. Of course neither "our" Rep. (French Hill -should his last name be "Toast?") nor "our" two Senators (Cotton (yuck) and Boozeman) were there. There were just three empty chairs.

You were there! Thank you.

Participants at our town hall didn’t fill the elementary school auditorium but they numbered 200. Early days still. Good and thoughtful questions from a very concerned group of citizens. The only moment of strong protest was in sympathy to the anger expressed at Senator’s Durbin vote on the CR. It was also very clear citizens want our House representative to fight—and she said she is doing that and will continue. I was one of the few people with a protest sign (from Tesla takedown protest) and I only brought it out when the Indivisible leader on the stage said it is our role to agitate, so I put it up for a moment to support that idea. The Chicago Tribune wrote an editorial about town halls going off the rails with angry, disruptive protesters. But the example was Palestinian protesters, and the negative examples may be due to that group specifically (I need more evidence that it is more general problem.) Hope you and your neighbors are making fun of Phantom Strong’s phantom strength.

A couple of people from the audience asked when he was going to live up to his name. You’re acting like Dale Weak!

We need to reframe what’s happening with new terms that capture the new reality. This moment is not about left, right, center, Republicans, Democrats: it’s about every American who opposes the Trump-Musk-Vance regime standing up for what’s true and right and the freedoms from dictatorship, fear and want that our founders sought to protect with checks and balances and the rule of law and reason.

Every act of opposition matters; there are no litmus tests.
