What an absolute dedicated leader. And so positive. We are fighting to keep our democracy and we could really use her in the Senate. Maybe she can talk some of her fellow Democratic Senators to stop voting for the Trump administration's nominees . Best of Luck.

This was an interesting interview in that Senator McMorrow had graduated from college had lots of student debt but had an interest in becoming an automotive designer. Being from Michigan she’s right about the automotive industry beginning in that state but over time Michigan has lost out in that regard to other states particularly red states in the South. Particularly Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia and Arkansas. Over the past 10 years or so Alabama has become home to 2 different Toyota manufacturing plants one assembles the engine that goes in the Toyota Tundra light truck. The other is an assembly line plant that assembles Mazda and Toyota light sport utility vehicles and small trucks and also Hyundai, Honda and Mercedes. Michigan will have to figure out how to compete with other states that are particularly non union and right to work states. Although, IMO I believe that some of our plants could stand to be unionized.

In terms of economic development and prosperity I believe states should strive for economic diversity. Healthcare, Biopharmaceutical, Engineering, space and Defense contractors and other technology based industries are often sought after industries in rapidly growing areas that have a well educated workforce with thriving top tiered universities.

Paralyzed by identity crisis, consumed with identity politics, dominated by geriatric politicians clinging to power, and lacking the rage and grit to fight back effectively, the Democratic Party serves up an embarrassing spectacle.

But it ‘s beyond exciting to see the women in political leadership coming out of Michigan! Mallory McMorrow, Gretchen Whitmer, Jocelyn Benson, Dana Nessel, Elisa Slotkin, Rashida Tlaib….spectacular, inspiring. One wishes the national Democratic bench were so rich. Maybe there’s hope after all.

Jen, you have a talent for flushing out the best people and how to showcase why they rank as the best. It gives us hope to hear from people like Mallory McMorrow who reflect the values we fight for, and who know how and are willing to get us back on track once we wake up from this nightmare. Thank you ... and Norm ... for all you're doing in this time of crisis.

Yes, "let's reclaim the message" for the Democratic Party and humankind. So much better than my senator.

I like this excerpt from Mallory McMorrow best of all because, in my opinion, it points the way to go: "We can't change policy without the numbers to do so. So that means thinking about we have to get a majority of people on our side to hold a majority of seats in the Congress and the US Senate to make these changes. And that requires giving people space, maybe people who voted for Donald Trump and are coming out in droves to these coffee hours or participating in these focus groups to say this is not what I voted for. I see a lot of chatter online of people saying, well, you got what you voted for. We have to welcome people back in." With more and more politicians like this, we have hope for the future.
