There is so much each of us can do. In Coloado, one woman saw a need and started the Immigration Protection Teams of Colorado. There are now 22 teams throughout Colorado that help to escort immigrants to court hearings to provide non-legal assistance and support. We act as trained observers when an ICE raid is reported. We educate the public about the facts and myths about immigrants including their valuable contributions to our communities. And some of us are working to educate the businesses that employ foreign born workers about their rights, and pass out Know Your Rights cards for their employees. Being involved with the Boulder Immigration Team's efforts to educate businesses and foreign born workers has given my husband and me a way to make a positive contribution. I love the fact that this state organization that now involves hundreds of volunteers started with one woman!

What should one do if officers refuse to identify themselves or produce a warrant? How is it justified to arrest a pregnant citizen for refusing access to a property? Is there any way to stop the agents who appear to be masked thugs? Is anyone trying to hold them accountable? What if one sees such persons harassing or kidnapping another person?👹

I'm confused -- as a US citizen over the age of 18, I should be carrying my passport all the time? Or is this advice mainly for people who, because of their appearance, might be targeted?

The Immigrant Legal Resource Center has this information on cards in many languages that can be ordered or printed and handed out to anyone who may be targeted. See their website: ilrc dot org.

I handed out cards from the ACLU that are in English and Spanish that explains people's rights if stopped by ICE. I also handed out pocket US Constitutions. While it may be a small act, I felt like I had to do something to fight back at the cruelty and intolerance and keep people informed.

Where can more info be found related to the following questions?

Have there been instances of ICE forcing their way into a home without permission & without a warrant?

Is an ICE/HSI arrest made under those circumstances any less valid than if someone foolishly permits them into their home?

If they assault occupants, destroy/steal property, what can be done about it? Does local law enforcement have any standing to police these federal officers (certainly Trump's DoJ will not do so).

Similar questions regarding ICE/HSI smashing in car windows and dragging occupants out.

In addition, you can lose your driver's license for failing to cooperate with a traffic stop; does that only apply to State or Local law enforcement?

Regardless of how someone is arrested for immigration related matters ...

What should the arrestee do or not do (beyond what is on this card)? Should everyone know the number of a lawyer (how does one find a legal aid organization in their area)?

What should family/friends who are aware of (perhaps even witnessed) the arrest do to quickly take action to ensure due process and preempt rapid relocation to detention in different states or even rapidly deported (perhaps to a country that is not their country of origin, should they even be an immigrant).

from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, ICE just raided a worksite where undocumented workers were renovating a building that had a fire. 17 were taken into custody. There's going to be a protest tonight at 7 PM at Townhall.

Since the print is small and hard to read, it would be ideal to crop each of the 4 info panels into separate squares so they can easily be enlarged.
