Love to hear everyone here at The Contrarian, but really prefer to read my news rather than watch videos. Is it possible for you to provide transcripts?
I like to read also. On these videos, you can click on the CC button for closed captioning, and, to the left of the CC button, is an icon of a page and if you click that you get a transcript.
So critical. This is a boots on the ground but while you are criticizing I must point out “badly lit” should not be hyphenated. Words ending in “ly“ (in essence adverbs) do not use a hyphen as an attempt to create an adjective. You too are imperfect 🤣
The transcripts are there to read. I paid $70. because I want to help save democracy in America. Along with these committed journalists and readers who unsubscribed from the Washington Post when Bezos bent the knee, I am part of the Resistance.
Good grief, stop complaining. You're not the only person who subscribes. Many people prefer video over reading, some listening, some watching with closed caption. Just say thank you and move on.
Also, Cate, below the entire video box is the title of the video and then the authors listed just below that. Look just below both, over to the right hand side and you will see a box that says "Transcript" (right between the "Share" button and the "..." button).
It's easy to miss because it blends in with the background.
Here's a sample of what comes with the video as is:
Hi, this is Jen Rubin for The Contrarian. What a day. I hope some of you got to enjoy Norm and I in our fun-filled, somewhat chaotic live chat. But be that as it may, we are now on to more serious topics. And Norm is here.
And we also have with us a phenomenal lawyer, Renato Mariottin, who was a federal prosecutor is now doing def
For one they are just getting started and like what's pointed out below you can already read the transcript that comes with the video, just click the transcript link at the bottom next to CC.
I'm thinking of Cassidy Hutchinson and Oliva Troye as examples of Trump administration officials who testified before the J6 committee that may be targeted by the DOJ who I believe aren't wealthy persons. I would definitely contribute to a legal fund to support them. I hope this is tracked and made know to the public. We need to support those who believe in democracy.
I like the idea of your new publication but I feel overwhelmed by all of the posts. Is it possible to send out ONE daily email with links to the different topics you are writing about? I do manage to read Heather Cox Richardson every day but adding several posts from The Contrarian to my overly-taxed emails is almost overwhelming.
I agree. I can’t read or watch every link as they come in. I need to prioritise. I know some of this comes from choosing substack for Contrarians platform but I hope there are plans for other formats later. A digest maybe, or a virtual front page hosted somewhere.
More easily fixable: this video was posted without a description of what the conversation was about. I need a hint at least!
I only hope The Contrarian doesn't become yet another venue for anti-Trumpers to indulge in back-slapping among themselves. It feels good, but what does it accomplish? Find hard issues to report on, please.
Very informative talk. I was wondering why no one brought up pardons for prosecuting attorneys in the various Trump cases such as Jack Smith and all the others who might be vulnerable. Would they have been covered by Biden’s pardons?
I have not ever read or listened to the latest episodes, but the comments are astounding to me.
I want to hear the truth, and I am not so concerned with grammer or verabge Honestly people we are from many different countries, states and identities,., We may not always have the right words or phrases, but , for god sakes we can try to get along and understand each other. Be nice! Please!
Maria Chamberlain - I see your comment about being nice to each, and to try to get along and understand each other. I am reading this at 10:48 pm on 1/20/2025, and it was not deleted from the comments that I could see. By the way, I agree with you wholeheartedly.
I love the videos. I was cooking dinner listening to this one and took a couple of glances to see how great you all are. I love the contrarian. Keep it up. Thank you.
Commenting on the earlier video with George, Jen, Norm and guests. It was way too chaotic. Everyone was talking over (and even shouting way too much). I had to give up. I, like most of us, read faster than listen. And in this era, I don't need shouting and chaos in a live stream--even if the content is worthwhile.

Yes x1000!
I paid $70 for a year because I like to *read,* not watch badly-lit, poorly framed video content.
I like to read also. On these videos, you can click on the CC button for closed captioning, and, to the left of the CC button, is an icon of a page and if you click that you get a transcript.
Thank you Patricia Jaeger & David Artemison.
Complainers -- please read up if you to refuse to Listen Up.
Ears 👂or Eyes 👀the content may be critical to targets and/or targets' attorney(s) or their financial support.
Very interested in "Democracy Tracker" content!
Copies of the 40 so-called Executive [not] Orders so far are needed ASAP.

Concur Arley. I have long called for a Syntax SWAT Squad.
I consider it a bonus to be able to listen to their commentary. I hope they don't listen to you.

Both are available…if only they paid attention. ?
There is quite literally a transcript button in the lower right hand corner of the video.
Thank you!
Actually, I'm not seeing the Transcript option ar all. I see CC, under the video, but nothing else.
Also, Cate, below the entire video box is the title of the video and then the authors listed just below that. Look just below both, over to the right hand side and you will see a box that says "Transcript" (right between the "Share" button and the "..." button).

To the left of the CC is an icon that looks like a lined page to click for transcript
I am so glad that they take the time to stream these videos.
There is a transcript button at the top of the page below the title.
“Read in App” is top right on your email. Easy-peasy.

I'm so disappointed that Cassidy Hutchinson didn't receive the protective pardon!
She is the initial person who exposed Trump's malfeasance.
SHAME on Biden for not protecting her!
All we needed to see was Elon giving the nazi salute. That pretty much says it all.
You all are busting it today!!! Awesome work. Great guests, interviews and inspiration
Norm’s relish for the FFOTUS terminology just tickles my fancy. :)

It's an overwhelming time, don't you think 🤔

You don't have to read all of it. And you can also turn off auto-send.
FOTUS 34 is much more accurate than POTUS 47.

Thank you 😊. This morning was great and after the first felon speech I smiled

Glad somebody else watched the preening shitshow today so I didn’t have to.
Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, everyone…
Really appreciate all of you.

On my screen there is a "transcript" button to get the printed version of the discussion.
