"There are lots of coaches who are retail politicians, first and foremost, who are finding that their skill set is just remarkably less valuable in the coming years"
I'm loving this weekly sports segment! Pablo has a great sounding voice!
I thought NIL (name, image, likeness) was a good idea in the beginning (a mere 2 years ago) but it has so quickly gotten out of hand. The compensation being paid out by the collectives to student athletes is way too high, in my opinion, for young people who not too long ago were in high school. Too many college athletes are bouncing from school to school via the transfer portal year after year looking for bigger and better compensation. No loyalty to one school unless the school is a known powerhouse for the sport the student athlete plays in.
I know it's not the focus of many U.S. sports fans, but I hope you'll cover cycling at some point during these sports discussions, specifically races like the Spring Classics (in Europe), the Giro d'Italia, the Tour de France.
From September to January I will take my college football 🏈 One thing Pablo failed to mention is how NIL affects other sports. Women’s sports in particular. Women’s gymnastics 🤸🏼♂️ fun to go to their competitions!!
Thanks have Pablo. You continue to broaden the horizons of the Contrarian community.
This is a fabulous conversation. And I love that Pablo's going to be on every week now!

I came to this late, but I sure loved it! Pablo is great — very knowledgeable!
Great interview. I love his take on the NIL collectives and the portal.
For someone who has given up the faith, it is good to have an experience.
What energy!
