Thank you for bringing along another WaPo refugee, Ann Telnaes. Her work is compelling, impeccable, and transformative.

So much to contemplate. For example, don’t let Signalgate deflect us from other news. For example, children are suffering from liver damage after following RFK Jr.’s advice on Fox to treat and prevent measles with cod liver oil and vitamin A. Republicans following Trump and almost unanimously supporting what are clearly incompetent picks to lead government agencies may be the big story. Incompetence by design may be another strand in the attempt to destroy government at a prelude to selling it to the highest bidder. It simply adds to the Musk strand of privatization by destruction.

Indeed, there is so much ketchup being thrown against the wall in a desperate attempt to distract us. Don't be distracted by today's 25% tariff announcement on imported cars by Czar Donny! This would breach multiple trade agreements already signed, executed, and established, and put the USA back in International Settlement courts where we will not prevail At some point, won't the American public tire of constantly being sued or amid some level of legal action? This is all so stupid!

Do any of the Contrarians (probably Norm, but whomever) have a recommendation for a 'US Constitution for Dummies' type of resource that one could use to bone up on said Constitution? One can readily search such things, but I would prefer to start from a place of Trustworthy Advice.

Thanks

OT –

In a world consumed by the voracious hunger of capitalism pushed to its absolute extreme, "The Owl and The Sword" novel unveils a dystopian landscape where wealth is the ultimate currency, and power is wielded by those who control it. Set in the near-future United States suffocating under the weight of corporate greed, the novel follows the harrowing journey of a group of unlikely heroes as they confront the insidious consequences of a society driven to the brink of collapse.

See “The Owl and the Sword” – a novel now available at Barnes & Noble only, not Amazon.

What happened to "the buck stops here"? A lesson on presidential metonymy and accountability for the "fourth estate"

Journalists have the habit of using metonymy in their news coverage. Are they clever? Simplifying? Or are they misleading? I'll let you decide.

However, where does the "buck" stop? In the “White House,” the “Oval Office,” or the “Administration” when appointees of the president can testify that they do not recall?

Why can’t the Fourth Estate change their coverage and what impact

could that have if you started using the president's actual name instead of the metonyms?
