Great cat, very beautiful. His activities remind me of a cat I had who played fetch with twist ties. She also caught lizards and brought them into the house. One ended up on a curtain rod, and my cat asked me to get it down for her. Fun memory.

I've had 3 Maine Coons. Best cats EVER!! Our first was in the early 90's, A stray as a kitten. George was, hands down, the best cat I have ever had since the 1950's. The smartest, the most compassionate. My "soul animal". I'd have another however I'm truly for stray/shelter pets, too many are put to death because of overpopulation. Paying enormous amounts of money for a pet is, for me, too close to paying for a human. Hannah Marie was $100.00 and wasn't wanted by her breeder, we saved her and paid about the fee for a shelter would have been. Jethro Aloyosius was $175.00 and didn't make " the cut" for best of show. Saved him too.
Two recycled kitties at home now. Chilipuff is from a lady at church who could no longer care for her. Sara, aka little bit or shit, wss a stray at our door.
Yes, Marcie, Thanks for taking in your wonderful cats and not succumbing to breeders. Mom knows about Soul Animals and four-legged compassio. When Mom's precious dog Gilligan, died at 15, whom she found at the Mary S. Roberts Adoption Center in Riverside, CA, she was devastated. She waited to get over the shock, grieved. She was almost comatose She continued to look for her next fur child to adopt even though some friends offered to pay for a "pure bred" Doodle dog. Eventually, one night, Mom found me online (lookin' a bit scraggly, if I must say) at the Mary S. Roberts Adoption Center, and knew Gilligan sent me to her. Mom was at the door of the Center when it opened the next morning to meet me. I came prancing out on the lead, jumped in the crook of Mom's arm and that was it. I'm a lover. I was fixed the next day, got all my shots. Our friend who was with us paid the fee of 100.00 to celebrate Mom's birthday. Best birthday present ever!! I was reportedly 4.5. Now, I'm almost 7, What a great life we have: living first in the mountains, and now in the valley. We walk at least 3-4x/day and I go everywhere with Mom because I'm a signal dog. So, we are right with you about embracing those who find their way to us, by adopting. By the way, all of Mom's cats found her as if she had a sign outside that said "Cat Haven Here: total and unconditional love". But, they all had to learn to walk on leashes... but that's another story! Finnegan Dog in CA
I’ve been a cat lover since I was a child. When my late husband and I bought our first house, we adopted 2 make litter mates that we named after my grandfathers. Over the years, as one beloved feline crossed over, we added another…and sometimes another! 27 years ago, as I was beginning a life change, (my husband’s sudden death, sending kids off to college, and retiring from a career in education), I stopped by our Veterinarian’s office to get prescription food for the three felines that kept us company. Housed in a cage were some stray kittens eligible for adoption. I asked to just hold one of them…and…one incredibly beautiful female came home with me. She was a Maine Coon that we named Zoey and, while I loved the older cats in the household, Zoey quickly stole my heart. She slept on my husband’s side of the bed and comforted me when I needed it. She loved fetching tissue paper balls and protecting us from any outside cat she spied from our bay windows. One by one, my other cats crossed over and it was just Zoey and me…I had her for 16 years and I was devastated when she died of kidney disease. I grieved for 2 years before I adopted 3 stray kitties who continue to bring me joy…but that Maine Coon, named Zoey, was just the best!
P.S. One of my current buddies likes to perch her hind legs on the arm of the couch, stick her head under the shade of a table lamp, put her front paws around the lamp and go to
I love Pancake! What a beautiful cat. Maine Coons are great cats altho I've never had one because I rescue the down-and-out and haven't come across a Maine Coon. Yet!
Asha, your Pancake is just beautiful. My brother has a Maine Coon and they are one of the most beautiful cats and really smart. Pancake is a real treasure and sure made me smile! I've had cats my entire life. They are so special!

I had a male Maine Coon for many years. Coons are so loveable! Still miss him.
Very sorry for your loss, Dale. 🥺
It was a long time ago, but thank you.
