Jen is joined by AG Keith Ellison and AG Matthew Platkin to discuss the terrible impact of the Trump Administration, the illegality of many of its actions, and what Democratic Attorney Generals can do to fight back.
I am grateful for all the public servants out there who are looking out for us. That includes our journalists who champion the rights and freedoms of our citizens as well as our courts and all other stewards of our democracy.
I'm heartened by all the supportive activity including from around the globe where ordinary people are kind and supportive for ordinary US citizens and what we're experiencing. We must remember this and pay it forward. This experience is so full of lessons that, if we learn from them, we'll all come out much better in the end. Fight the good fight and keep the faith.
Thank you Keith Ellison for working for and representing the people of my adopted state of Minnesota so well! I'm very happy that you, and also Matthew Platkin are here to talk to us about what the AG's are doing. We don't hear about that too often. I'm hoping that the town halls will have success, along with the protests, the legal battles, and the gassroots work on the ground. We are in a dangerous era all of a sudden, with a government that is governed by MAUFA (Making America Unsafe For All). So grateful that the rule of law is proving to be a hard nut to crack, eat, and spit out.
Trump's latest executive "spasm" is not the only attack on elections. An earlier action has slipped under the radar of anyone not familiar with election security. It's straight from the Project 2025 playbook:
"The federal government has halted election security activities and ended funding for the system that alerts state officials of election security threats across state lines, a representative of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency told state election officials last week.
"The March 3 email, obtained exclusively by Votebeat, confirmed for secretaries of state and state election directors what they had read in news reports and noticed happening in practice: that President Donald Trump’s administration has suspended or dismantled federal support for election security, at least for now."
Perhaps even more ominous is this (also from the above link):
"CISA has also taken 'appropriate actions' against employees who under the Biden administration had helped states monitor false information about elections posted on social media..."
I have no doubt "appropriate actions" means they plan to punish the fact checkers.
Great interview. Really appreciated their perspectives and first hand accounts of what they are seeing and experiencing. And I am so glad to learn about the DACA town halls and will be checking that out!
Love this. Strong character, all of you. Jen, take care of yourself, you do such a great job, don’t work so hard that you can’t help us. Lordy, I can’t keep up with all your podcasts, journals and interactions. Kindly, take a breath, you’ve launched this. Let some fellow podcasters who need new market promotion put shows on your recorded bits/teasers in your shows. Thanks for your god work!
While I appreciate the AG efforts, the Democrats have been handed a gift. They need to use that gift the same way the Republicans used Benghazi and Hillary's emails. Relentlessly hit the Republican congress and Trump over this. Do not stop.
They have the benefit of not being liars about the matter, which the Republicans were clearly all about with their efforts against Hillary...
Please AG’s come to TEXAS ,rural Texans need to hear what you have to say. Myself and. My78yr old husband will drive two hours tonight to hear Gov Waltz/ and Beto
This Texan, city not rural, has about lost all hope over the Republicans here with their goofy and dangerous backing of Trump et al. We Democrats would win more votes if not for the severe gerrymandering. And due to lack of foresight or spending on infrastructure, we will be out of water for 400,000 plus more people.
Great to hear the positive news from these State Attorneys General! And glad to hear you and others are visiting with other states for the same problems occurring elsewhere. Good for Jen to continue coming up with topics and speakers/writers to keep us in the know. Thank you.

Love Jen’s “Executive Spasm” instead of executive order! Describes FF47 perfectly.

Yes, news of this executive spasm slipped under the radar. Thanks for the link.
I think states should just ignore this "executive order." It's blatantly not illegal!
Sorry, blatantly NOT legal....

Thank you for taking all these legal bullets for us!!!
Thank you all for your huge efforts on behalf of “WE THE PEOPLE”! You inspire and encourage me tremendously.
Informative interviews. Thank you.
My despondence over the election results hasn’t stopped me from political activism.
