Our monthly all-contrarian episode of Talking Feds Substack with Harry Litman, Norman Eisen, Jennifer Rubin, and Katie Phang first analyzes Trump’s address to Congress, which clocked in at about 2 hours and featured a series of lies and low blows.
Is there some way we can hear from a Republican member of congress who can publicly defend what is happening in your country. All I hear where I am are pathetic sound bites (Lindsay Graham being pathetic on Ukraine) etc, why aren't republicans being hounded and forced to defend their behaviour. I wonder if there's some sort of Joseph Goebbels behind the scenes controlling the narrative..of course there is. Please someone write an article naming Republican names that flushes them out so they have to defend themselves. I am in Australia, politicians cannot hide here, so why there?
What a special treat to able to audit this fascinating conversation. The panel took up topics that have been in the news all week and dug deeper to yield even better understanding.
Kinda cool to have the famous actress read a script on anti trust law. That's the way to teach us non lawyers the law.
I just love this podcast! It is always interesting and, as a lawyer, I really appreciate both its in-depth discussion and analysis of the legal issues presented by what this "administration" is attempting to do and those being argued in the courts challenging this "administration's" actions, and the participants' ability to clearly lay out to those who are not lawyers exactly what is happening and how dangerous it is.
Hats off also to Ms. Rubin for referring to DJT's "lizard brain" as whenever I see a photo of him, all I see are is his lizard eyes and to Ms. Phang's astute observation that Musk is intensely focused on data collection for his own interests.
Great podcast and absolutely love hearing your different perspectives. I tend to be an overly serious person and since our democracy is under siege- I walk around in a panic. I cannot believe how much I chuckled and laughed out loud during this episode. Thank you all for your wonderful senses of humor !
Back in 2020, Cory Gardner was running for re-election for Senator of Colorado. He refused to hold town halls. What people did was take a cardboard cutout of Gardner, known as Cardboard Cory, to town halls, in place of an empty chair. Gardner lost his bid for re-election.

Republicans lawmakers are being told by their party not to host town halls because they're getting crushed at them...

Five or fewer words if we take Greenland? GIVE IT BACK.

Enjoying your talks that help me understand more of what is happening now. Thank you.
I would totally help sponsor one of the Vance chickens on a Republican-seat-filling mission.
