Until this erratic on-again-off-again, what percentage is it now, and who is to be targeted trade policy gets done away with, there will be no return to anything approaching normal in our economy - national or at the kitchen table. Without stability, nothing will function well. Retailers can't plan and neither can the business and manufacturing arms of the country.

Walmart just announced that they are raising prices due to Trumps tariffs. Others will follow suit. It is not looking good for anyone who struggles from paycheck to paycheck at the moment.

We have yet to feel the full effect of this insane trade "policy". As the often-heard saying goes, 'we ain't seen nothing yet'.

"The Republican tax plan emerging from House Committees this week have received far less attention. Yet, the economic damages from the latter look to be deep and long lasting." We need to keep attention on this aspect of the economy.

It seems pretty obvious to me that the On-again off-again nature of this process is mainly intended to allow Don the Con and his buddies to do some short term insider trading. MTG (the Ilse Koch of the GOP) let the cat out on that one.
