Tim Mak joins Jen Rubin to discuss the ceasefire (or lack thereof ) in the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the ongoing mineral resource discussions between the U.S.
Thank you so much for this great interview. I like getting the facts from people who are on the ground it’s so refreshing not to have to listen to the bs in the media about Ukraine.👍👍
It's almost as if Putin dangled the prospect of peace in front of Trump, got Trump to weaken Ukraine, and then have no intention of anything like a ceasefire or peace. And we get a fucking painting of Trump.
But then, who am I to question the "Art of the Deal" guy? Or the person who talked to the actual author.
Tim Mak describes the Ukranian situation so well and responds with easy clarity to Jen's questions. I enjoyed seeing more of Tim's reporting. Thank you.
Really appreciated the straight, honest talk from Tim Mak about what's going on in Ukraine ... various pressures and likely choices Ukraine faces. Nobody can count on the United States under #47, even U.S. citizens.
The Ukraine "mineral deal" is a hideous commercialization by the Trump administration of the ideals of democracy, a total betrayal not just of Ukraine but of democratic civilization itself. (We have also seen this crass idea that $$ matter more than human lives in some of the statements found in the Signal meeting fiasco related to the Houthi airstrike.)
The Ukraine "mineral deal" is also a total red herring, as Tim Mak's discussion makes clear.
Excellent opinion on trump: " ...there's no level of sucking up to Trump that you'll do that you can trust that he'll do what he says." It sounds like both Russia and USA are definitely not part of solution for Ukraine. I'm glad that the European nations [anyone actually geographically near Russia] are solid supporters of Ukraine. Hopefully that translates into something good for Ukraine.
Thank you, Jen and Tim. My biggest fear is that Putin and Trump are going to offer Zelensky some ridiculous offer only for him to refuse. Then Zelensky will be accused of not wanting peace and prolonging the war.
What is the best way for a US citizen to donate money to Ukraine's war effort. I tried to donate for armored ambulances as recommended by Timothy Snyder and did not succeed, so would appreciate some advice! Thanks!
Wonderful reporting. I love hearing about Ukraine and what is happening there. My heart goes out to the people of Ukraine. I sincerely hope that we can overcome Trump and his crew and start to repair the damage he has already done. Say a prayer for the US. I hope we can get through this soon and we can get back to supplying Ukraine with weapons.
