Kudos to the lawyers who refused to dishonor their oaths. When there’s so much corruption in the justice department something is wrong and it takes a while to restore trust because the worst offenders have to be weeded out one by one.
Ed Martin has been nominated and just had his hearing for the USA for the District of DC. The cowardly GOP Senate will probably confirm him.
DC police also sent a referral to the DC District's action for a GOP Congressional member who allegedly assaulted a woman. No action has been taken, as yet (can't take a GOP House member off the board with its slim majority).
This is promising, but not enough. We the public have become so complacent that when a truly egregious violation of law and custom occurs right before our eyes, we still assume that 'the system' will take care of it, and we can roll over and go back to sleep. When will we realize that our basic freedoms are at stake, and EVERY individual must rise up to protest? And, VOTE, dammit!
What is so shocking is that the person dishonoring established law is the president. He has introduced a total corruption of our nationals ideals and the mockery of an unknown number of oaths of office.
My only disagreement - I think Rump will never blame Musk - despite that being his consistent M .O. generally. He's too afraid of him snd he just looooves the cachet of hanging with rhe richest man in the world 🤮
Thank you, Ms Ifill. It is a pleasure to read what you write and I — enjoy isn’t the rite word, since who could say they are enjoying the machinations of our felon and chief— I’ll just say I am edified each time I have opportunity to hear you interviewed
It's hard to understand why these prevaricating lawyers aren't immediately disbarred once it's been proven they've presented false information in court. It's unconscionable they continue to work as attorneys.
The outcome is coming anyway but these lawyers refused to advance it. Lawyers take an oath to the Constitution when they become members of the bar. As the piece notes, they are not allowed to lie to courts so these lawyers quit instead of breaking their oaths. Real lawyers are not anything like TV court, just so you know, and a number of trump’s past lawyers have been disbarred, also pointed out in the article. Any lawyer who breaks the rules for trump is an arrogant fool looking to get disbarred, fined, or even imprisoned in the future when trump is not there to protect them. There is nothing else in the practice of law except principled objections, which actually is, the rule of law. Like your freedom? Thank a lawyer or a judge.
Can't Bove be disbarred for such unethical conduct? And if so, he can't continue as an AG, right?

With utmost respect, AP

Why aren’t these resignations exactly what Trump and Bove want? I agree it is wonderful to see principled objections, but I fear the outcome.
