After The Puppy Bowl!

The 2025 Puppy Bowl takes place Sunday, Feb. 9. It begins at 1 p.m. CT, and will last three hours.

The Puppy Bowl will air on Animal Planet, Discovery, TBS and truTV. It will also stream on Discovery+, Max and Fubo

The dogs will compete across two teams -- one named Ruff, the other one Fluff -- with the winning one taking home the coveted "Lombarky" trophy.

The game, which raises awareness and donations for shelters and rescues across the country, also features a special honor for MVP, or Most Valuable Puppy, along with an "Underdog Award," which goes to the pup that "surprises viewers the most with an outstanding performance."

For me, Super Bowl time is a couple of hours to do my small part to protest the removal of the "End Racism" signs in the end zones. My husband is a retired sports journalist. He covered the Sugar Bowl in the Super Dome in 1981. He is still thrilled that the N.Y. Giants beat Tom Brady twice. We get along fine as I root for the Packers and the Steelers in the NFL. But this time, we will be at dinner, celebrating our 18th anniversary (even as I secretly root for the Eagles because my sister lives in Philly).

I plan on abstaining from watching this year. The Orange One is attending and that is enough to turn me off. I will not be adding to the viewership numbers. My only hope is that the crowd will boo him substantially and that Kendrick Lamar, lyrical genius that he is, will bust out an absolute banger of beatdown for the Tangerine dictator.

A time to boo in person the POSOTUS. I won’t be there but I’ll cheer for the fans that boo the loudest at him. I’m a football fan and it’s the culmination of a long season. Happy it’s ending. Looking forward to next.

When we lived in the East Bay of California, Superbowl Sunday was time to do something else, like walk across the GG Bridge and back, or walk the many delightful steps of San Francisco.

This is brilliant! Thank you.

In our new regime, possibly the next Kennedy Center honorees will be the winners of "the big game." That would be less astonishing and disturbing than almost anything that has occurred since January 20th.

I came home from work to find my pre-teen sons huddled around the computer. What's up I asked. Dad, we were just looking for information about the 30th Superbowl and we found this! Search for XXX yourself and see what they found!
