We would do well to remember Pastor Niemoeller's chilling words about the Nazi purges. "First they came for the Communists, and I did not speak out because I was not a Communist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew. Finally, they came for me, and there was no-one left to speak out." HISTORY IS REPEATING ITSELF, AMERICA !

Where is the lawsuit to stay these illegal firings? You need cause to terminate these employees, they do not serve at the whim of the "President"

Firing FBI agents without legitimate cause is illegal and should be contested in court. Every one.

The danger associated with this is dire. They will:

1. Stop investigating or monitoring domestic terrorist activity if it is viewed as pro-Trump in nature. Stochastic terrorism is fine now. Remember the Oklahoma City bombing? We are in danger of a future action like that.

2. Introduce staffing shortages, and a general lack of competence, that make other terrorist attacks more likely.

Like we saw with the plane crash last week, when the government fails to adequately do its job, people get killed. The many ways they are breaking the government will have major consequences. We are seeing the impact of the tariffs, shortly of mass deportations, potentially violent terror attacks and certainly widespread threats of violence, and potentially risks to food safety, and safety of water and air.

Everyone needs to take this very seriously and have courage to fight it.

I think it’s time to invoke the 25th amendment. This is insanity. Just like Jen was saying in the video with Weisman he said both Patel and Bondi would have to be recalled by the senate before confirmation and if they can’t give their word they will follow the law then that’s a disqualification. Republicans would be foolish to confirm them by allowing democracy to be steamrolled.

I just re-read the 25th Amendment. If I understand it correctly, there is no chance of it being invoked as long as all the necessary parties to invoke it are republicons: "the vice president, president pro tempore of the senate and the speaker of the house of representatives" or "the vice president and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as congress may by law provide."

If Trump doesn’t die in office or voluntarily resign then he can be removed from office as it says in section 1 of the 25th. This all goes back to impeachment. If he commits a serious crime then any party can draft articles of impeachment. 2/3rds vote in the house and senate is needed to impeach. 67 senators regardless of their party.

Folks, let's stop bullshitting around and just call all this exactly what it is: a hostile take over of government, a coup d'etat

"These FBI firings will make our communities more unsafe—while undermining the crucial work the Bureau undertakes every day."

Unsafe in what way and what is the daily crucial work? Somebody needs to be out there talking about it. Because for some people, they think FBI and it means the Trump "raid". It means the witchhunt for poor persecuted Donny. They don't think terrorism or child sex trafficking.

And just why are so many FBI heading into the sunset so meekly? The only one I've heard of who says he's directed his people not to quit and is "digging in" is the guy in NY. I'm afraid the acquiescence suggests to people that their jobs really weren't that important.

The felon is conducting illegal acts every day and daring us to stop him. Call and email your Senators to stop all appointments and call for quorums on a regular basis to slow down the Republican takeover. Call and email your House Representatives and demand they immediately file articles of impeachment against his illegal actions. We don't have time to wait - our democracy will be gone by next week if we don't stop trumpusk.

We should reserve our indignation, disgust and ire for the cowardly Republican enablers who are allowing this to happen. Trump is just being Trump. We need to stop attacking Trump and start calling out his Republican lackeys.
