"The Media is Questioning the Wrong President's Fitness"

Yes, and that's why we are all delighted that we can now get real news from sources like the contrarian. TY.

Thank you for highlighting this issue, which has been irritating me for the past week or so. It's not just that Trump is clearly as cognitively challenged as Biden ever was. Trump is the President right now, Biden is not.

I am beyond sick and tired of the Biden bashing. He didn’t treat the presidency as a “cash cow” like the present occupant and his family. He cared about ALL Americans and dedicated his life to public service. Let’s concentrate on the current situation and the harm he and his followers are doing to our country and democracy in realtime

Tapper's not afraid. He has had plenty of negative things to say about Trump over the years.

My local group of Democrats, while writing postcards, were talking about the Jake Tapper book. And were outraged at the success of this distraction and irrelevance.

As a former NYT subscriber, I was told that the NYT is falling in line with the distraction strategy and making the Jake Tapper/Joe Biden story center stage.

I feel like tearing my hair out.

A Contrarian contributor, Josh Levs of They Stand Corrected in a recent article offered a suggestion on how to fight back. He recommended sending our criticisms to MSM and then copying him. He guessed we might be ignored by MSM but he, Josh Levi, could make our unanswered criticism into a story?

At least it's something.

I agree! Trump is a malignant narcissist, who according to specialists such as Dr. John Gartner and Dr. Harry Segal (Shrinking Trump podcast), is showing signs of dementia. His brain is becoming increasingly disorganized. I have read that much of what he speaks is not being recorded by his people, because it doesn't read well. I heard the bit of the interview when he was mixing up Harlem and Harvard. Very bizarre.

Repeating the same "automatic phrases" time after time isn't a sign of good mental health.

For the last 25 years the MSM has preferred clicks and profits to journalism. Bothsidesism is the focus of the MSM because with journalism there may be a loss of some market and share; and the MSM might be called "the liberal media bias" (boo hoo, so scary).

Since when have facts and truth been seen to be "liberal"? Aren't they just objective?

Since Fox News showed the MSM that lying and profits are far more important than journalism.

You hit the nail on the head there.

It also seems that when the word 'media' appeared, a lot of journalistic integrity got lost in what used to be the reporting of the news.

You are, of course, quite correct. All of the current kerfuffle about Biden's mental condition (who is no longer the President) is a deflection and distraction from the current President's decline into dementia. First we had talk about sharks, boats, and batteries in a speech that had nothing to do with any of them. More current were the references to businessmen, trophy wives, and God's treatment of him in his address to the West Point graduating class. It was inappropriate and just plain didn't fit. His appearance and comments at Arlington National Cemetery were equally out of place and some of the jabber was illegal (politicizing or political activity at military cemeteries is against the law).

We should be far more worried about the current than the past as far as the mental and physical well-being of the current White House occupant is concerned.

this has been working my last nerve. but something has been different this go-round than it was in 2016 with "but her emails": people who feel like you and I do spoke up from the beginning and made it clear we weren't taking the bait. how come we're calling them on it instead of mindlessly taking up their obsession (worst headline was the Post's Drew Goin story that said something like "You Must Care About Joe Biden's Cognitive Decline")? I wonder if due to but-her-emails and all the other failures the corporate press continues to inflict on us, our collective trust has declined to the point that we're somewhat harder to manipulate. gonna take a lot more than some Opinions writer telling me how I should feel about a story for me to muster the demanded rage. fwiw, while last week Tapper and Thompson were doing all the shows and gleefully telling stories they glory in being outraged by, a couple days ago all of a sudden, there were no stories about the book. we went from screaming sirens to dead calm overnight. can only hope we don't forget the lesson: these jerks claim they don't set political agendas but they sure as heck do when they are so moved—but we don't owe them a shred of trust. breathless reporting isn't enough anymore. demand that they start covering the current occupant with the same zeal as they've documented Biden's every slip or frailty, and don't be afraid to heap scorn upon them. they've earned it.

I have always contended that main stream media got Trump elected. Once he came down the golden escalator, all the other candidates became "also rans" and were totally ignored by the media. I saw the same thing happen a Trump was running for office this time. How many stupid, idiotic and just plan wrong statements did he make during the camapaign? If these were reported at all, it was with a "wink-wink" -- "oh well, that's just Trump."

Biden has his flaws but he cared about this country. Rarely, if ever, was the news related to Biden reported this way. But, boy, when he flubbed, that became not just the 24-hour cycle story, but one repeated ad infinitum.
