Again proving two sage adages at once: "The more things change, the more they stay the same" and "Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it." Thanks for shining a light on this little known historical event.

It always amazes me how the Democrats were always the bad guys from the Mayflower to the 1970s, really.

Since then, the Democrats have made a 180 degree turn and the republicons have been what the Democrats used to be. It all started with the sainted Ronnie and, not to forget, Nancy. Even Nixon was that bad.

Now we have the worst one yet and his string puller, the muskrat.

Also, having Gym Jordan and Tom Cotton as the chairmen of the House and Senate "Intelligence" committees is an absolute joke.

Gym doesn't even know how to spell the word, much less what it means, while all republicons of both houses are in taxpayer funded comas.

FDR and JFK were hardly the bad guys. Remember too that a Southern Democratic president, LBJ, signed the Civil Rights Act into law,and knew that he was ceding the South to the GOP.

Obviously, I was not speaking about those three or several House Reps. and Senators, but the Democratic rank and file who were not willing to give up their mindset until it was shoved down their throats. Now the Democrats are the Lincoln Republicans and the republicons are white supremacists or token minorities and maximum cruelty is their objective.

Republican members of Congress appear to not care about the oath they take, the people they serve or any basic moral code.

It is hard to watch your country coming apart while Republicans try and justify a dictator and his oligarchs.

I didn't know people could stoop so low....

We need more heroes like Waring and the complete elimination of these Trump toadies who use political and taxpayer money to hang or fire someone for a so-called political decision that is 100 % within the bounds of law.

The GOP House members who signed on to this should all be primaried in 2026 and there should be legislation that caps how much can be given in donations to any campaign. Buying political campaigns is where the corruption begins.

This is truly inspiring as a virtuous historical precedent. However, it is sad that we keep electing people of the caliber of Rivers and Gill. And Speakers with Johnson's low instincts.

Good history lesson intertwined with the present. I hope more judges see past the rules thrown out in these times and insist on correctness.
