Trump the pussygrabber ('when you become famous you can get away with anything') and wannabe-extortionist ('I want you to do something for me first') meets Putin the murderer and war criminal to discuss what they intend to do to the victim one of them has been torturing in the basement.

To abandon your friends who are fighting not just for themselves but for you and your values represents the very heights of perfidy and stupidity both. We will be paying for this for a generation through shattered relationships with precisely those we desperately need as friends. Shameful and disgraceful.

Well said.

I thought the US didn’t negotiate with terrorists and criminals. Putin has been using Russian citizens and monies to terrorize Ukranians. He has stolen their land and even kidnapped their children. Moreover Putin lies as easily as he breathes. Trump is a simpleton who can be lulled into a trap with nothing more than flattery and Putin knows it.

Trump is a terrorist as well.

So this is the "art of the deal"? Give it all away before negotiations begin? Stab your allies and the Ukrainians in the back? The US can be a powerful force for good. With this gang, it's a powerful force for evil and corruption. Up here north of the border, we are preparing to fight back. Count one more lost friend and ally.

The Ukrainians gave and continue to give their lives to preserve their democracy, their freedoms and their future. For what? Trump's cruel cold shoulder and perhaps a shot at getting rare earth minerals via a transactional relationship which still includes handing Ukraine over to Putin. America, didn't we used to be somebody? Somebody much better than this?

The people who voted for Trump don’t care.

The people who voted for Trump care deeply. We need to understand what they care about and why. You can't defeat your enemy until you know what upends their beliefs.

Magats, as a rule, are misinformed and brainwashed. The people lying to them understand what makes them tick. Do we?

The ones who voted for Trump are the first time voters who saw their family decimated by the pandemic and the inflation that Trump created in his first term. The rest are millionaires and billionaires that want the tax cuts.

Trump is now blaming Ukraine for starting the war. Trump agreed with Putin about everything. Trump thinks Putin will treat him as an equal and they can divide the world along with the Crown Prince, and Xi. Trump doesn’t realize how he will be pushed aside by Musk. That is happening already.

There seems to be a slight chance that there are at least a half dozen Republican senators who don’t want to align with Russia. At least they say that now.

Really, this is treason. It’s been going on for 14 years.

All Trump wants to do is undo the work of every other president since Roosevelt. He wants to rewrite history and show that we lost the Cold War and have Russia win.

He’s giving Putin the world-just like he asked.

Any fool can end a war by surrendering. This is not the America I signed up for.

It's not the America that for 70 yrs I believed I was born into. It's not the America my father fought for in 2 wars. But it is the America that knowingly elected a fraud & criminal as president. I am still trying to figure out how we got from there to here. I swear we were not this stupid 70 years ago!

Sadly the young aren’t getting educated like we were. They didn’t understand that they would lose many of their freedoms.

I think many young people think it's all some sort of game and if it goes badly they can just hit a reset button and all's right with the world. They just don't get it.

I feel like Donald Trump would be more than happy to be part of an Axis of Evil that included Russia, China and the United States.

That thought has occurred to me as well.

Autocrats of the world unite! If they are all on the same page, they can oppress their own people without pesky criticism or sanctions from democracies attempting to uphold human rights. Anne Applebaum's "Autocracy, Inc." is a concise guide to this phenomenon of the marriage of dictatorship and money.

I think that is exactly what Putin said to Trump at their mystery meeting in Helsinki.

This is so awful. I know President Biden and his administration, staff worked very hard to get our allies to trust the U.S. after Trump's first go round. This time it's much worse.

You can add Netanyahu to that list... but without the surrender. The US is a willing partner. The butcher of Gaza would have impressed Joseph Goebbels… genocide as “self defense” and those that oppose it “antisemitic”. Yet, he has meetings with an openly antisemitic billionaire… who’s also an illegal alien. He and Trump are made of the same scum… although you’d be hard pressed to find anyone stupider than 45/47.

Disturbing and sickening to see Trump sell out Ukraine like he did today after what the country went through in WW II. So many of our fathers and grandfathers fought directly against Nazi & fascists like those rising up today. Then they were emboldened by their alliance with Stalins Russia. Signing their “non-aggression” pact replete with maps carving Eastern Europe off for Russia. Now Trump is going to sell out to the very same forces that were so essential to starting WWII not to mention the Cold War and its immense cost. To appease Russia, surrender, and sell a democracy down the river will be an everlasting stain of shame upon the country and above all upon those who allow this to happen. A political price must be paid for treachery.

Trump's collusion with Putin - by not only selling out Ukraine but also the security of Georgia, Moldova and the Baltic States - brings the world another step closer to war. May the two of them be the first to reap the evil they have sown.

It's a disgrace. When the Trump regime, along with it's Republican sycophants, finally crashes and burns, hopefully without taking the rest of us with it, it will take years, maybe even decades to recover.

It is mind-boggling: On every front, Trump has managed to steer toward the stupidest, most destructive policy available. This is not even random idiocy, but apparently directed toward maximum misery for all involved. I'm no psychologist, but there is something very pathological going on here.

Couldn't say it better than Anat Shenker-Osorio 2/21/25: "Trump & the billionaires who bought him, Musk...are coming for your life & your livelihood. He is coming for your freedom. He is coming for your privacy. He is coming for your information. And he is conducting a hostile takeover of our government so he can take our money.”

The way Musk’s DOGE is going about agency personnel cuts is the equivalent of thinking we all need to lose 30 pounds & deciding to saw off legs arbitrarily. What Trump & Musk are doing will hurt millions of people in ways that we’re only beginning to see.
