Excellent. Thank you! I am a retired health education specialist, and particularly appreciate your basing your approach on research findings, and that you start with understanding "the pictures in people's heads."
I appreciate the examples of a few ways to chat with vaccine skeptics. Your comments about not ridiculing or otherwise demeaning vaccine hesitant people is so right.
I believe in vaccines, had my son get all his shots, and have continued with my own as I age. Something that I haven't seen much discussion about, is the credibility problem BIG PHARMA has and how it complicates the vaccine debate. I don't think anyone believes pharmaceutical companies are in the business to improve the health of anyone. They are in the business to make as much money as possible. Because of this, it is easy to see why people don't trust vaccines. I am very reluctant to take recommended medications because I don't believe their hype, and I don't like the side effects. Allopathic medicine has become far too reliant on medications to "heal" putting the health of all of us into the hands of greedy capitalists.
Thank you for this communication how-to. As a physician, I was always a little surprised that many vaccine hesitant parents were themselves vaccinated by their parents who knew the ravages of vaccine preventable diseases. Is there any way to cycle that situation into the conversation?

Well said.
Very helpful, clearly written, though mastering these approaches will require practice and more instruction. Thanks.

I’m sorry, but comedian Ron White had the best answer to this whole thing.
YOU CAN’T FIX STUPID is what he said.
