I had the great privelege of working under Volcker at the Federal Reserve Board from 1980-1984. He was then, and remains now, my hero. His complete courage and integrity to do what was right for the country in the face of great opposition from Reagan was a great inspiration to me. As a person, he was larger than even his physical presense at 6 feet 7 inches. Our country needs more Paul Volckers and fewer Donald Trumps.

On the topic of economy, today's article in Reuters headline is "Trump administration withholding $436.87 billion in approved spending, top Democrats say". After all the outcry, the polls, the demonstrations, town halls, and still...What now???

He saw the writing on the wall 7+ years ago. So validating - Wow. Paul Volcker’s brilliant, poignant words are indeed prescient. Isn’t it quite something that a number people could see the writing on the wall and we were made out to be lunatics? My God, with what we KNOW TODAY, we know that none of us were crazy after all. And now, we peacefully, albeit loudly, we fight for our democracy.

A good review of not just Paul Volcker but others helping to keep an important part of country on a good track. Thank you for your words, even the hard ones for us to consider.

In medicine, we have prefixes brady- and tachy- (slow and fast respectively). You hear the lordys mostly on the labor unit when mothers are delivering. There are the brady lordys - loooorrrdddy, loooorrrdddy, looooorrrrdddyy. Then there are the tachy lordys - lordy, lordy, lordy - one lordy barely ends before the next begins. Prescience is an odd thing, you know it is coming but you don’t see it until it gets here - looooorrrrrdddyy, lordy, lordy, OMG! Perhaps this is our WWIII, I hope the only mortalities are the orange turd and ALL his sycophants, including the criminals of SCOTUS - you know the ones. LORDY.
