Our country needs a deluge of Jim Acostas, Norm Eisens, Jen Rubins, et al, speaking truth to power and truth to the American people. And then we need all the American people actually listening.

I agree. But how is that going to happen? How many Americans follow substack? How do we reach out to a broader audience?

Substack is growing every day. We have such great principled people who have come here to speak truth to power, and those of us who are in attendance get to hear it. It is a very scary time, it is wonderful to have these folks on substack via The Contrarian out there working to give us the truth we must hear. Tell a friend there are good folks here.

Please make Jim Acosta a regular Contrarian Contributor! We need his voice, too.

Keep it going gentlemen. Integrity is very, very cool!

Glad to see folks I have followed and trusted breaking loose to where they can speak their minds more fully--based on a history of having spoken their minds well in more constrained environments.

Hope to see more of Acosta on Contrarian

I'm on "meals on wheels" I'm not financially neeedy. I have health problems and am old. So it was nice to have them come. Vegetables that I would not normally eat, too much trouble. Or just being checked on by the delivery person because I live in the middle of nowhere. After I skipped supper last night because I was too tired after my root canal, I just went to bed. Luckily on the way home from the dentist I stocked up on microwave meals that are half the price of meals on wheels if you can afford them. Anyway, you all keep me company. (I'm the ultimate cat lady.)

And the coming generations complaining about ours will soon be "us." We all need help in our lives. We are not a nation of rugged individuals--in fact, in current times, just the opposite. When the help we need is gone, the ignorant will learn a fast lesson... at our expense.

and theirs, as they come to recognize it.

How did we get yoked to the ignorant and selfish?

Norm-let Jim talk.

Love the commentary and conversation but at this time there is a restlessness in just listening to it all. Please insert some purposeful action the viewer could take, no matter how small, during these talks. I notice Jen Rubin attempts to do this in her interviews. The truth must be heard and thank you for speaking it but so many of us are not sure how to implement it and what, amidst all the news, is the most pressing.

writing post cards, as needed, is one possible action.

Mr. Acosta, welcome to Substack. But thank you even more for taking a stand and leaving CNN viewers with truth, and showing them what honor looks like! It’s folks like you, Norm, Jen, Meidas Mighty, BTC, and alternate media speakers that are making my world feel safe. THANK YOU

Feels like Jim Acosta leaving CNN and Paul Krugman leaving the Times are the same move: “There is such a thing as Truth”. “ Hold on, hang in there, hang tough”.

Yep. (Thanks to you both, and Norm Eisen- and Jen Rubin.)Onward and upward….. “ (Democracy Forward secured an injunction. “)

“There are not two sides to the story when it comes to what is right and what is wrong: we the people demand the truth.” Yep.

“You can’t play both sides here when it’s not an even playing field” . Yep, and ..

When Walter Cronkite went to Vietnam and came back and said, “The war in Vietnam cannot be won….”….yep.

Thanks .

How are you going to get your commentary out to a wider audience, an audience that probably needs to hear you more than we do?

I am very glad to have Jim Acosta aboard this train. But this particular discussion was mostly Norm Eisen talking. I found that disappointing. Hopefully, Mr. Acosta will get more time to share his thoughts.

I'm struck with the different tone of THE CONTRARIAN video presentations - free of all the trappings of Legacy Media productions.

Presenters and their guests, people of extensive experience,  intelligence, expertise, are there in their own homes or offices with or without makeup, with or without a tie, without the slick glass or heavy wood desks of staged productions. Here they are, often in close- up headshots, naked in their Truth. Clear and concise. Nothing to hide.

What a breath of fresh air to have your presentations without all the trappings. My mind doesn't have to deal with all the filters, to sit in vigilance for falsehoods or wade through obfuscations of Legacy Media or Trumpist Empire.

And no ads. I have just talked to myself into becoming a paid subscriber, eager to share your Link with friends.
