Jen speaks with Dr. Rob Davidson about how public health is at severe risk, especially in light of RFK Jr. and his potential confirmation, but what he and his group have done to try to prevent that.
We need more doctors and medical scientists and their organizations to make a lot of noise about RFK Jr’s confirmation as HHS secretary. Not only does the qualified individual accepting this position need to have the requisite qualifications and experience but they also should be able to communicate with the directors and department heads of the agencies they will be in charge of.
As a retired RN , I, along with all of my former cohorts, are alarmed and frightened by the possibility of an RFK confirmation. I am wishing more nursing associations would come forward to speak up of the dangers of his being in charge of this country’s public health with absolutely no knowledge….. only theories from a dark web.
As a retired dentist, I am appalled by RFK Jr's stand against fluoride in public drinking water. This has been proven safe, over and over again, and poor communities and young children will be the ones greatest at risk. I was born in a small town in rural Appalachia, and I have first hand experience with what happens when children are not exposed to fluoridated water during the cavity-prone years. Please stand against this ignorant man.
A lot of Senators don't accept communications from non-constituents but as a retired health care professional, I have written to Senate Majority Leader John Thune, and Sen. Mitch McConnell about RFK, Hegseth, Gabbard and Patel. (Sen McConnell did vote against Hegseth) Write to your Congressional Delegation and these two present and past Senate Leaders.
It's very difficult to have any effect on nominations when Congress is Republican majority. I am sure there are quite a number of Republicans who privately do not find Hegseth, RF Kennedy, Gabbard even remotely qualified for Cabinet positions. They march in lockstep with the "leader". Right now it is very sad and getting on to be frightening. All I can hope for after the confirmations are done is that Congress will work harder to deny policies from such sadsack appointees. We know just exactly what policies they will advance: whatever the leader says. They are simply mouthpieces with no minds of their own and/or clueless about their jobs.
Jen you are amazing with all the work you do. Thank you for these important, informative short interviews. I hope doctors opposed to RFK will email and put their signature to doctorsagainstRFK.com. I love the way you always ask what the listener can do at the end of your interviews. Now Jen, please take just a 20 minute tea break to rejuvenate, we need you for the long run!
This was an important interview. My thoughts keep going back to this - when trump got Covid, who and what did he think saved his life? I sincerely believe he would have died without the latest Covid research and the best medical help in the world. And now his bunch of cronies don't seem to care as much about medicine as they care about money and power. Good to know about doctorsagainstrfk.com. That's a great piece of information!
