Protesting at every insult towards democracy at state capitals is where it begins. Next at the federal level. Protesting and being very vocal towards state legislators and U.S. senators and congressmen that represent your state and or district. If their vote doesn’t represent your interests then vote them out. Primary them.

I've been protesting, and I was at the No Kings protest on Saturday. But that's only one day. What can we, individual people, do between protests to stop this? Sure, we're calling and writing our representatives, and that's good. It has to keep happening. But we need to find a way to interfere directly in the unlawful behaviors of the MAGA thugs. We need to get creative about ways to jam up their gears. I'm open to suggestions.

The Resistance is alive and growing. Keep protesting for as long as it takes. Republicans will realize we're not going away, and that they will pay when mid-terms get here.

Maybe strikes would help.

Letters to the editor help.

Talking with friends is supportive.

Participating in the next event is essential. On Martha’s Vineyard we’re already talking about the July 4th parade. Every bit helps spread the word.

That's mostly all I can do, but also, write to your representatives, even if they, like my congresscon, Nick Langworthy, are attached to the short-fingered vulgarian like a remora. Write anyway, and make them fully aware of how you feel, what you think, and that you VOTE.

It's all about the size of Commander Cupcakes hands. His worshippers follow him out of their own perceived inadequacy and the illusion that he, their saviour can fix that for them.

I keep reading in various news reports and opinion pieces about No Kings day that the crowds were "joyous". I was at our local rally and it seemed joyous to me--then I wonder how could something so serious be joyous? I think it's because we could see how big our local gathering was and knew that the same thing was happening all over the country.

It might be dangerous sometimes, but they can't arrest half the country! I feel joyous.

"The Texas State Capitol in Austin was evacuated because of threats to lawmakers who had been planning to attend the protests."

This action by Abbott and his henchmen is a laugh. Obviously, no fascist party members were going to participate in the "No Kings" protests, so what better way to prevent Democratic lawmakers from participating than to evacuate the entire state capitol?

I note the NYT article today about security personnel at the NO KINGS protest in Salt Lake City shooting and wounding an anti-protest guy (who had an automatic rifle, not fired) and killing a bystander with a wayward round. Indivisible and others encourage us to take their training in de-escalation, etc. What requirements are there for the training of security personnel hired by the protest organizers? Are these events going to become more violent?

Saturday began horribly with violence, in shooting of legislators in Minnesota, by a hater of democracy. The day got much better with the “No Kings Day” very peaceful protests, throughout the country. Trump’s birthday parade celebration fizzled, as it should.

The Army’s 250 year Birthday Parade was a success. The historical narrative was great. I clearly remember nightly news video of helicopters flying in to drop off and pick up infantry in the jungle. They were being protected by gunners that were targets themselves.

The parade was low key in attitude, as it should. These are Americans for goodness sake. Laid-back attitude is what we do best unless called to aid. The Army showed that they are supporting the constitution. Loved seeing waves and hearts from the tanks to the people.

To me one of the saddest things about all this rightwing violence is that it is perpetrated for a coward, for a guy who dodged military service, for a cheater and a liar, for a guy who would run the other way if his friend got attacked and needed help.

Side note: That would be a friend he surely has not got but that is another story.

“Warning signs are flashing, but we have time to stop the slide into full autocracy…” How? What can we do to stop Trump and his minions? Seriously, how do we stop him?
