I'm thinking that critical thinking skills to assess the meaning of that song is beyond the felon's capabilities.

And, showing him a transcript of the lyrics won’t matter because he can’t read.

They never taught Wry-Wrony at Trump U, obviously. I didn't know about the Credence, Clearwater and Revival number, which only makes it even more fucked-up. How anybody could take YMCA -- a paean to secret gay sex in the 1970s -- and turn it into a Trump campaign song is just beyond me.

I don't even know what to call whatever the hell we're going through. Beyond words.

I prefer to believe the Army band knew just what it was playing even if the birthday boy did not: and I love the thought of Pete Hegseth desperately scrambling to make sure there are no more band kids among the Army's enlistees, what with band kids being super-bright and having something of a droll sense of humor.

Consistent with his enthusiasm for Les Mis even though it’s about a revolution by the people.

The occupants of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue with the deepest appreciation and understanding of contemporary music have been Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama.

I honestly thought someone in the armed forces played that song to intentionally skewer Trump.

Hilarious, and sad that we have such an ignorant president.

Please tell me that John Fogerty has stepped in to stop the playing of "Fortunate Son" by this fortunate son with five military deferments.

Something else that struck me watching the video clip - the troops in the parade were wearing battle fatigues and not dress uniforms. Could this be a subtle message that their job is fighting, and not displaying in parades?

If only Nipsey Hussle were alive today to sing "FDT."

I would be surprised if Commander Cupcake were more knowledgeable about music and culture. He only pays attention to two things: His money and his manly parts. It's a Penis Presidency which exists due to the anxiety of the MAGA Voodoo Cult over the size of its collective manhood and the Heritage Foundations war on low and middle income (non-Christian) Americans.

I’m kind of amused that in all the commentary about the music played, No one has noticed the catastrophic French horns and trumpets at the opening of Richard. Strauss’s Thus Spake Zarathustra — more famously known as the opening music for the film 2001. It was more than funny, it was buffoonery.

I think Trump’s use of these songs speaks more to his utter disparagement of his base voters. He really thinks that they are too stupid to see the irony.

I think both he and his base are that ignorant. However, deep ignorance is no obstacle to becoming the most powerful person in the world, twice. Obviously, knowledge is over-rated.

I think this is where we start to get stupid. Sure, it's great to think that he's so blissfully ignorant than he doesn't know that "Fortunate Son" is about him, and so we get to point and hoot at his naivete, but I can't buy that.

I'm sure he knows exactly what the song is about and I'm also sure he's trolling us with it.

When you're too dense to know or care about the lyrics, it's clear, ignorance is bliss, and Republicans are as blissful as they come!
