I'm just the opposite - my eyes skip around the screen when I read articles, so I'd much rather hear than read information. I love the conversations between interesting people who honestly care about what each other are saying. Long-form answers, uninterrupted by anchors or ads!
Is there any way to unsubscribe from non written content ? I don’t have any time for live videos and I could also do without the email notifications of video content
My understanding is that going in without a warrant would be not only unprecedented, but stupid. Going in without no warrant would ensure that Bolton faced no charges, and whoever authorized it would be charged.
As a general matter, HOW does a person navigate on this site? To say that the task is baffling is a polite understatement. PLEASE articulate just exactly HOW that's done.
I don't seem to have those three little dots to the right side that allows edits. ??? And as others have said, I'd like the default listing to be newest comments rather than those with the most likes, which we can always go to.
I’m with you, but I think that’s the platform’s (Substack) default. I could be wrong about that, but I subscribe to several Substacks and anll the comment sections default to Top First.
I’ve dug into sub stack settings and have not seen any place where one can change the comment order default. I have found that each sub stack has its own settings for notifications – for example there were several commenters here who didn’t want to receive notifications for the live chats, and the contrarian does have a good list of notification settings, so you can subscribe / unsubscribe to/from their different kinds of posts.
Who is the Federal Judge that signed off on the John Bolton house invasion?
Good question. Of course it's possible that this president's FBI went forward without a warrant of any kind. :)
This has been helpful, and thank you.
At times, my inboxes are simply too full from several sources, which can be stressful. Now I know how to manage it.
I've been a subscriber to The Contrarian since the beginning and you're the best.
I'm thinking to cease the video announcements... I never respond to them. I don't like being talked-at; much prefer reading.
I prefer reading, too. It would be nice to have the option to just get info in the format that works best for us.
All videos eventually are provided as transcripts. This way, whatever method works.

You just are just THE BEST.
Oops too many justs, but the idea remains!

Those of you are saying you don’t want to get notifications of live chats: you can personalize your notifications.
Go to:
https://substack.com/settings
Look for: Subscriptions
Look through the list of your subscriptions and click on The Contrarian.
You should now see “Manage your subscription” at the top of the page. A little farther down look for “Notifications.”
You’ll see a list of notification options and can toggle off any you don’t want to be notified about.

Is that right? I didn’t know that.
