Why did you write this article for the Contrarian? It’s mostly irrelevant and just speculation. But most of all. It’s below what I expect from this innovative new publication that is helping save our country.

Totally agree with you. A guy is entitled to his beliefs even if I disagree with him completely. This article is pointless. Freedom means being free to hold whatever views you want regardless of your race, creed, etc. And for the record, I'm a super progressive and don't watch football.

I thought it was great. Did you waste your time watching a worthless athletic endeavor? May as well comment on it. Again, is this the game with an oval ball? Who the f cares. Go back to work.

Well, what do we expect from a player in the Redneck NFL? Just look at despicable people like Aaron Rogers. No surprises here. To the extent that those players care at all, I would say 90% of them and 99% of the coaching staff are Trumpers. I used to watch a lot of NFL games, and I was a diehard Packers fan for many years. Not any longer. I can’t take that aggressive masculinity (wonder who coined that expression) and the blatant commercialism and fake patriotism of that league any more.

True. But don’t forget that a majority of white women voted for Trump. Go figure.

Or we can look to the other side of the field and see Jalen Hurts and his all female staff. Winning!!! Go Birds! 🦅🤩

Butker is the bigger problem for the Chiefs. As a Chiefs fan, I hated what he said and felt zero need to support him.

Mahomes has kept his opinions to himself, which we should allow him to do. His wife and mom's opinions are their own; he's not responsible for them. trump knew what he was doing with his comments--it was effort to take a shot at T Swift and Kelce.

This is garbage, and it makes me embarassed to be a subscriber. Patrick Mahomes is famous football player and he rightfully seems to limit his public views to sports. What his political views are is none of our business. He's not signing up to be a politician and, until he does, we should respect his right to remain silent.

I personally canceled after reading this. The fucking world is falling apart and you’re going to dissect people from, and raised in Texas, as the GOP? Huge surprise. This is ridiculous.

Geez. It’s just a game. Mahomes is just a football player, nothing more. And the article is just an article. Everyone is wound a bit too tight nowadays.

Also, speculating about Patrick’s political preference is also a game. And, to be honest, we’ve been barreling towards destruction for thousands of years.

Human existence is ridiculous.

"Mahomes’ refusal to publicly stand against Trump and his administration is a choice." Yeah, that's true. It is also true that those of us who care about America and democracy (and, BTW, the survival of our economic system) are rejecting those who will not actively speak out about the Musk/Trump systematic dismantling of our government. Some of us will publicly stand against Trump. And that's a choice, also!!

I agree that this article, written without facts, but lousy with speculation, is low journalism. This kind of “believe what I believe or you are worthless” is exactly what got us where we are today. Concentrate on building a political message that attracts people who will vote with you instead of throwing muck at people who are to be respected for their work ethic and incredible skill.

This is not the sort of "news" I subscribed to the Contrarian to read. It is complete speculation. And while I would be sad to learn that Patrick Mahomes supports Donald Trump, at the end of the day it makes no difference to the work we need to be doing to save democracy.

This article is beneath you. Have you no friends or relatives whose opinions differ from yours? You quoted the very appropriate stance of a fine young man but implied something derogatory.

Carton, ignore the naysayers. I am glad that someone (YOU) had the courage to call this shit out. Biracial Chiefs famous quarterback married to a blonde white MAGA woman whose family supported The Criminal. His own mother was wearing a MAGA hat? JFC! He may not be MAGA but he surely is surrounded by plenty of them. He had an opportunity to “say something”. He didn’t.

Tommy Tuberville, the Senate's Stupidest Senator, half-agreeing with Trump who was trying to give him credit for Mahomes' success, said that he hadn't coached Mahomes but had recruited him and they were friends. Mahomes politely set the record straight: the years he was there didn't match up with Tuberville's recruiting and he barely remembered him. He didn't have to do that. With his wife being rather outspoken, he's in a hard place if he doesn't agree with her politics. So who knows?

Now people are talking about the rarity of Jalen Hurts' "all female management team"; there are 5 of them!

‘I was seeking out the best, and that's how it happened' he said. Love it. :)
