For this reason, I can never forgive the voters who failed to vote against Trump. YOU have put our asses in the wind. YOU have made us more vulnerable to Russia and China. Since your "favorite president" accepts "no responsibility at all," YOU do. You are the ones sitting in your recliners, killing democracy as surely as if you were in the White House.
Actually, the voters did not give us Trump. Trump won with a measly 1.5% margin because of the third Party candidate, Jill Stein of the Green Party. 68% of eligible voters who voted did NOT vote for Trump. Ballots cast for Jill Stien would have gone to Harris had Stein not run. Stein's family and friends begged her not to run for fear of what happened would happen. Furthermore, 36% if registered voters mation-wide, did not vote at all. Numbers don't lie and what I have written are statics you can easily conform online.
Putin isn't as dangerous for the USA at present as is the GOP and the Heritage Foundation are. The last two named are using Trump's narcissism as a tool to further their corrupt totalitarian agenda and enrich themselves at our expense.
Putin is using Trump to stop monetary and weapon support from the USA in Ukraine. All you have to do is give Trump money and lots of ego-boosts to get his support. Putin wants Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, and Finland along with the t Baltic Sea. . Trump wants Greenland for Putin for easy access to Europe. Putin (Russia) occupied Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia and did major ethnic cleansing in those countries, Still, they regained their independence in 1990 and 1991.
Most Americans are not aware of these facts. I know them because I lived in Scandinavia a number of years. We Americans know little of what really goes on in the rest of the world except what our media tells us; and then they slant the truth and have a propensity for sensationalism.
I lived in England for four years and was astounded at how much people from high school drop outs to average moms to the well educated know about current events, politics and the cultures of the rest of the world, including America. Here, our media barely covers anything global unless it's a "big" story and very few can be bothered to read about it.
We are all voters, even those who choose not to vote. For them, I have zero respect. People fought and died for the right to vote. Right now, it is our most important right, and it is slipping away because of people like them.
Marvin Kalb, I respect you a great deal and find most of your analysis spot on, I hope for all our sake that your last sentence is not wishful thinking, like most everything has been so far when it comes to wishing for karma to finally catch up with the orange felon.
The turd was playing golf. Or rage-tweeting inanities about Rosie O’Donnell. Or eating chocolate cake or hamberders. Or sleeping. No sign saying “The Buck Stops Here” anywhere to be found.
It amazes me his dumb followers think of him as competent. He has no interest in governing, has no skills, cannot think, doesn’t know anything, cannot do anything. He spends his time being the pettiest, smallest, tiniest, whiniest little bitch around, taking zero responsibility for anything that goes on under his watch.
The idea that a CINC could be MIA for a mission-critical secret military operation like this just boggles the mind.
We need to cut through the chase and make it very clear the felon owns all of this discord that we are seeing in our country! When we had a real a president last year! We did not see this daily barrage of BS! So let’s just call it what it is! Tyranny by a traitorous felon, that 77 million Americans refused to acknowledge!
Remember, too, that serious, factual reporting has revealed that this was not, by far, the only such exchange in an unsecure medium. With the 'vanishing' of Signal messages, we may never know. The administration's record keeping of official activity? If the law is irrelevant in so many other ways, why bother with such details, right? No, definitely not right.
He only takes responsibility for good outcomes that he had nothing to do with. He bragged about the booming economy after he got elected (and before he tossed it in the trash) saying it was due to his popular election, not that Biden put it all together. Otherwise, he reminds me of Sargent Schultz on "Hogan's Heroes"...."I know nothing". I wish someone would put a reel together of all the things he knows nothing about, like Project 2025....
Trump’s behavior is typical of someone who thinks they never bear any responsibility or consequences for anything. He is and always has been irresponsible.
What has struck me is how many times Trump has claimed to "know nothing about".....(pick a subject). While quoted with these words, I have yet to see any media challenge them or ask why, as leader of the country, he appears to be so clueless. A project for an intern might be to do a search on how many times ( in his last term in office, during the campaign, and in his current term) he has uttered these words and what subjects he "knows nothing about."
Harris described Trump as "unserious." Apt. It's like you're trying to convey the seriousness of his unseriousness. But the unseriousness means not taking any of our expectations seriously. Unseriousness has been winning. It is infuriating. Only if voters get serious will the dynamic change. Are they getting enough of the truth to do this?
Trump's narcissism does not allow him to t take responsibility for anything except what he considers to be a success, whether they are or not, and whether they are his or not.
Furthermore, I just read an interesting article published by The Hill about how Trump's totalitarian regime us fated to collapse. May this go from the writer's computer to God's ears.
I have been hoping for almost a decade for Trump's luck to run out. Unfortunately, as the years have passed, it has become clear that he has affixed America's luck to his own and that when his fortunes take a turn for the worse, he will take this country down with him. A terrifying feature of his malignant narcissism (it's labeled "malignant" for a reason and this should frighten all of us no less than the word "cancer") is that we can be assured that if and when the deeply mentally ill Trump understands he is "going down," he will undoubtedly burn it all down around him.
Meaning America, if not the world.
We're in the 11th hour of the American Democracy. We can no longer suffer from the mass failure of imagination that got us here in the first place. We must understand and accept that we are nearing a point of no return from this gaping abyss that is Donald Trump. We cannot afford to not think that the worst case scenario is not only possible, but is well underway.
Of course Trump bears responsibility. "The captain goes down with the ship" is just as true here as in the Navy. Just because he's a weak, sniveling coward, a complete empty shell who needs constant praise and support to keep him from falling apart does NOT remove him from responsibility, regardless of his pathetically small vocabulary in trying to deflect and distract his guilt.
For this reason, I can never forgive the voters who failed to vote against Trump. YOU have put our asses in the wind. YOU have made us more vulnerable to Russia and China. Stein is either delusional or a useful idiot for Putin.

We all are like that in other ways because we all take some things in our lives for granted.
Phone service, maybe. But democracy?

I found this today from Resist the MAGA Agenda: It’s not a Cabinet, it’s a Junk Drawer!

Have we forgotten Trump bears no responsibility for anything? And certainly DEI hire Pam Bondi will never hold him responsible.

The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff was missing from the chat, as well.

That "knows nothing about" was prominent about Project 2025 during the campaign. However, recent events seem to show that this too was a lie.
Donald Trump has led a charmed life, but his luck may now be running out. We’ll all know soon enough.
The only thing I can say in response is 'we can only hope"

Time is running out.
So well stated.
Trump doesn’t do responsibility. That’s for the little people.
