Today I called my NC Senator Tillis who sits on the judiciary committee. Feeling a little despair as I made the call. Yes. But it's a win if we keep showing up.

Cannot the bar association of the District of Columbia ( if there is such a thing), or whatever state's bar exam he passed, step in and give him a warning to uphold his responsibility as a lawyer? I would assume even a prosecuting attorney has to adhere to the same legal and ethical standards a a defense or any other lawyer?

With all the lawyers in The Contrarian" I would hope one of them can answer my questions?

This man lied to a Senate committee. That is a crime. He should be prosecuted – and certainly not appointed to be an important law-enforcement officer.

My senators have been contacted. Where is the Bar Association in all of this? They should start with dis-barment of Fraulein Bondi first...this corruption must stop!

Thr GOP oens every single thing that happens under this administration. EVERY.SINGLE.THING.

John Thune is a spineless, gutless coward. Majority leader, indeed.

You say that "Martin’s nomination is a test of how much (if any) life is left in the Senate’s important constitutional role in ensuring adherence to the rule of law through its confirmation process." I think the GOP Senate has already proven it has died, somewhere in trump's mothballed pockets. The only recourse left is to vote them out of office. And considering the dreadful, dreadful, dreadful Cabinet picks whose sole function at work is to follow the leader, just what exactly is one more sycophant?

Wrote to my (Democratic) Senators as well as Sen Thune (R-majority leader) and Sen. Tillis (R- on judiciary committee): Sharing the content of two emails sent to Rep. Senators (who accept emails from non-constituents via their websites) re: holding hearings on Ed Martin. " The American people, your constituents, deserve to hear the caliber of man that Trump has nominated in Ed Martin. The Senate needs to hold hearings and have the nominee answer questions in public about his actions, his contacts and his intentions for the position for which he is nominated.". Let's put pressure on Republican Senators to hold hearings. Let them hear from us all.

This brings scary to a whole other level, all the more reason why senators again must remember their oaths of office and be responsible.

You can count on the most corrupt being recommended for the most important job. If the Senators can’t reject this nominee then what does it say about them? This has nothing to do with the best person to fill the position but kissing the ring of the felon in chief.

Yet another shocking thing to add to the list. How low can these senators sink? Do they have any ethics or respect for their oath of office?
