Brian, your post reminds me of someone I worked with for a few months who worked at Gitmo when she was in the military. She'd tell the afterschool kids about her experience there and how awful the conditions were. Gitmo will look tame in comparrison to El Salvador.
It's so horribly easy to compare this administration with the Nazis.
They called it "Nacht und Nebel" - "night and fog", into which a dissident, Jew or other "undesirable" simply disappeared. Like arresting someone, then sending them to Louisiana, then on a plane to El Salvador. Sorry, we don't know where they are. Sorry, out of our jurisdiction. Sorry, nothing to be done.

If we go that route, I will be truly ashamed to call myself an American. I am almost to that point now with what this administration is doing! :-(
The United States of America was a model for how democracy should function, until January 20, 2025.
Since then, it must be used as a model on how democracy should NOT function.
