One more tasty little tidbit from CNN about signalgate:

'The discussions included a moment where Vance expressed opposition to a potential strike against Houthi rebels in Yemen to clear up shipping routes through the Suez Canal because, as Vance notes, Europe, whose trade is more reliant on the Suez Canal than the US, would benefit more than the US.

One US company that did feel the sting of the attacks on shipping routes is Tesla, led by chief US government cost-cutter Elon Musk. Tesla was forced to shut down production at its Berlin Gigafactory for a time in January because the attacks caused supply-chain problems.’

Wow. So, this entire thing is about helping out trump's wrecking ball, el destructo. Should have known: 'follow the money' takes on new meaning in trump’s endlessly greedy clown ‘government’.

You've highlighted an intricate explanation of the way this military action is to the benefit of Musk. I would not have figured this out on my own. Thank you.

I found it on CNN, bless ‘em. When trying to figure things out with this bunch you can never go wrong if you attribute motivation for anything at all to greed, usually by elon and trump et al. Gleefully intentionally hurting as many people as possible is a close second, though.

I just love Tom! We were proudly represented by him in NJ7. We now have nepo baby Tom Kean Jr. who’s up Trumps butt so far it’s amazing he can breathe.

Tom was great ... and I found some of his comments very enlightening to me ...such as asking whether JD & Co would suggest sending a bill to crown prince in Saudi Arabia in addition to our European allies ... or would we expect a bill from our allies for their military support after 9/11 or for efforts to help mitigate migration from Central & South America. I liked his common sense life approach to world affairs and allies, "that friends help friends" (or something close to that quote.

In addition to the great sources I now subscribe to (Contrarian, Reich, Civil Discourse, HC Richardson, Bulwark) may it’s time to stand up a Radio Free US - or Radio Free America - as we need to reach ever more people to stop the madness.

The RFE people trying to spread honest information in closed regimes could be a huge help here. We are experiencing a similar situation in the US, and need to devise better ways of breaking through disinformation.

Quite frankly, given what is going on with the current regime. it is probably better that we are not telling the word what is going on here. It is an embarrassment. We are certainly not setting a good example for the rest of the world.

It’s time to call in the psychiatrists. I’m not kidding. But for the American Psychiatric Association, countless psychiatrists and affiliated specialists would have denounced and possibly committed the orange turd in his first run up to the office he achieved. Now, the specialists have a revised edition and reinforce the global need to disappear these problems of the orange Mussolini.

D.C. code Chapter 5 deals with this. Regarding people who are endangering other humans (for instance, our entire nation) then involuntary admission laws/code are §21-521, §21-522. Certificate from psychiatrist, qualified physician (whatever that is) or psychologist suffice admission/evaluation.

I loved Psychiatry, my first rotation as a resident. There were TVs everywhere, even in 1984. July is replete with whatever tennis championship happens during that month. I can still hear the ping and the pong of July and get just a little bit anxious about starting anew. But perhaps it is a dream that only ping and pong noises can bring - advantage :).

We can do this, ping and pong - Democracy!

A bloody nose and broken face by the bullies. So glad some funding might come through. I wish you all the strength the sane world can give.

After listening to this latest exchange, I was again struck by the irony that we/you continue to miss the deeper, more important issue with the American public. Using the Signal debacle as the latest example, media and public officials seem so quick to condemn and point fingers. As usual, the discussions eventually point to past violations of security from our senior elected officials from both parties - as if that alone is the problem. The real problem is that these exchanges do nothing more than reinforce the general skepticism most Americans have toward our government as an institution. We/you all want Americans to be aware of and take interest in the issues/controversies of the day. BUT, does pointing out the fact that both political parties accuse each other of security violations (like this latest) accomplish anything? In my opinion, an emphatic NO! Officials and the media constantly remind us that both political parties do it, but then rarely or never state how to address the problem or try to stop it. So, we are all exposed to the schoolyard drama of children who are supposed to be adults, and at the same time asked to act more adult than those who represent us. And we wonder why so many Americans are simply tuned out?
