I just finished reading the detailed coverage by Politico of Bessent’s meeting with Trump in order to explain an alternate route in the tariff drama. The details are included in the Politico article, now all over & on Google. I’m a Dem but am thankful for Bessent’s move in this direction. Granted not perfect & lots of work remaining.

Is there any way to find out who in tfg’s admin ‘shorted’ the market in the days preceding the official levying of tariffs as well as who bought the bargain-basement-priced stocks in the days & hours preceding the tariff “pause”? By “admin” I mean tfg & musk, senior staff, Cabinet members, Ambassadors & everyone in Congress as well as all the uber-wealthy people tfg drools over.
I keep hearing the term “market manipulation”, but why is no one using the words “insider trading”? Isn’t “insider trading” the more obvious of manipulations & seemingly exactly what happened? Once tfg saw the bond market taking a bigly hit, he had to “pause” the tariffs, especially once he learned of Canada & the EU’s plan to begin dumping all their bond holdings at the same time, which would have been devastating. So it appears tfg had to “pause” the tariffs much sooner than he & his co-conspirators had intended.
The talk is all about the trillions of dollars lost with no mention of those who made money during those days. If people knew the “pause” was coming, which tfg had decided to do in a panic after seeing the bond market unravel overnight, & started buying the now-cheap stocks at opening bell, isn’t that the very definition of “insider trading”?
There must be a way to determine who took advantage & manipulated the market. This 8-day tariff crap made a lot of people buckets & buckets of money, at the expense of ordinary working-class folks, who reportedly lost 25% or more of the value in their 401k plan accounts. American Citizens deserve to know the truth about exactly who was involved in this scheme.

I have been quite fearful of what Trump has destroyed thus far. And I don't know why he is being allowed to not follow our laws and rules.

One of my senators, Adam Schiff, sent out an email today to say that he will seek an investigation of insider trading regarding tariffs.
