To your point about civil rights activists, one of the lead grassroots organizations for today's march and rally in Chicago, along with Indivisible, is the Black-led Chicago Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression, which was founded in 1973. From its website: "Today we see the police occupation of communities and mass incarceration as the two greatest obstacles to our fight for democracy and liberation."

Gov. Pritzker recently said "Never before in my life have I called for mass protests, for mobilization, for disruption. But I am now. These Republicans cannot know a moment of peace. They must understand that we will fight their cruelty with every megaphone and microphone that we have."

A large, noisy crowd answered his call to action today in a May Day protest in Boerne, TX (a deeply red Republican town) These wonderful fearless folks demonstrated it's "time to fight everywhere, all at once."
