Terrific interview by Jennifer Rubin with Gary Kasparov! He lays out the danger we are all in now in a way that is crystal clear. And Kasparov, himself, lived in Dictatorships. He knows exactly what is happening, and what we must do. Don't miss this important video.

That‘s exactly what ALL universities should do considering a university is only as strong as their diversity!!!!!

While everyone is talking about the economic disaster we are facing because of the tariffs. Virtually no one is talking about how autocrats take power through tariffs. The short answer is they gain oligarchs who will want favors and will pledge loyalty to the autocrat.

See krassenstein@substack.com

Today, April 3 at 6:58am. This gives some more details how autocrats take power through tariffs. It also explains how they develop supporting oligarchs who help them keep power.

This is a MUST READ.

Mr. Kasparov is correct. America has relied on standards, norms, and institutions that can be and were easily cast aside.

Senator Schiff's book, "Midnight in Washington," also warned about how those benchmarks were weakened, corrupted, and, in some cases, destroyed.

Once we finally do the right thing and impeach and remove Trump and his band of deplorables, there will be much work to do codifying protections to ensure this tragedy is never repeated.

Looking forward to reading the RDI newsletter.

So glad to meet Garry Kasparov. Up to now, for me, he has been just a name from the past vaguely associated with chess. From this interview, however, his voice and presence has made the democratic movement become further alive and hopeful. So glad to know about Garry and the collective movement of dissidents in the world.

I love the vampire analogy. Have the stakes and hammer and bright lights and shelter available because the vampires are coming out. This is the zombie apocalypse.

"United States-The country that I myself, as somebody born and raised on the other side of Iron Curtain, viewed always as a beacon of hope and a fortress of freedom." Kasparov speaks for me exactly in these words. I also want us all to concentrate on keeping democracy and law as the very primary, most important goals and objectives of our resistance. That is really the end game.

I saw lots of his comments on Twitter when it was worthwhile. An admirable Russian. I sometimes forget they exist.
