This federal worker household is so grateful for the call to action. We have been hanging by a thread since January. It's cruel and unusual, and at near retirement age with no means to retire anyway, it's terrifying. Donald Trump has severed the social compact with all Americans but more specifically and viciously with civil servants. What did we ever do to him?
I wondered if there is a way to contribute money to support Rise Up: Federal Employees Legal Defense Network. Turns out there is. Go to the web site given in the story. The 'Donate' link is at the upper right of the home page. Exercise your liberty — while you still have it — and donate to this legal defense fund.
As a retired US Army officer who did his penance at the Pentagon, I thank you very much. My mother retired from the Civil Service so I had early exposure to the “ladies in tennis shoes.” My experience throughout CONUS and overseas was always one of gratitude for the dedication of the Civil Service, the DODSS teachers, and the NAF employees. Thank you for striving to help them. I cannot imagine the stress a GS-5 is feeling when they are tarred as wasteful and told to turn in their keys when they leave and not take anything with them on the way out. Thank you. Perhaps there is hope our country will survive the next 42 months.
Thank you Seema for alerting us to this urgent need. Am going to go on website and donate since am not a lawyer. Wondering if MacKenzie Scott and some other philanthropic billionaires, if made aware of this dire situation, would help out financially?
Thank you to all Federal employees for their service in this very troubling time. As a former Federal employee, it is hard to imagine how difficult it is for you to perform your duties always looking over your shoulder. I am so proud of the former Federal attorney workforce for stepping up to help. Keep the faith.
This call for needed legal services, signed by so many honorable attorneys may be the most inspiring and heartbreaking call for help I have ever read. Our great nation is being broken -- all the Good, cut off cruelly and indiscriminately. At it as if these are the war wounds, needless wounds created in the strong fabric of our country. And, it is clear that the defenders of the Rule of Law, the ones who have always come to the rescue of us in times of darkness and unfairness, now need help. The government no longer means fairness; the rule of law; no longer means equity, which is now in fact akin to a swear word. I ache for these individuals and families. When the heroes are gone, who will rise to the occasion of supporting them? We all must, however we can.
Thank you to all the previously employed Federal attorneys for stepping up to help. As a retired Federal auditor who held positions at the Defense Contractor Audit Agency and United States Attorney Office, I wonder if I and my retired colleagues could offer some assistance. I will pursue this.
Trump ruins lives wherever he goes. By the time we end his reign of terror, he’ll probably account for as much poverty, destruction, and death as the Black Plague and Hitler put together.
