The world laments--rightly--the shootings in Rhode Island and Bondi Beach. But every week, every day, there are shootings in poor neighborhoods of America. We hardly react to these. Why are deaths at an elite college more worthy of coverage and sympathy than the shootings in low-income neighborhoods?
Well, of course they aren't interested in solving the gun violence issue. If they did that what would they do with all their "thoughts" and "prayers"? Soon there would be a huge national surplus and then the value and effectiveness of "thoughts" and "prayers" would be greatly diminished.
How do we prevent gun violence in schools?
How do we prevent gun violence in political rallies?
This was an excellent discussion, very informative. Thank you both!
